Unhappy Exhausted

Ok so I'm up to 1500mg of Met and I am absolutely exhausted. I go to bed early and just can't seem to drag myself out of bed. Is this a side effect of the Met or is it just me? First the tummy troubles and now I can barely stay awake.

These side effects really stink!

I have been on Metformin for 7 months and I still sometimes get extremely exhausted. It gets worse as the day goes on. I think it took about 5 months for me to either 1) get used to feeling this way that now it seems normal or 2) level out enough to have at least enough energy to stay up until 11pm.

I have always had a lot of energy, so it was a very weird feeling. I never wanted to go out and do anything nor did i want to exercise. Metformin is supposed to help you lose weight, but i couldn't muster the energy to even take a 1/2 mile walk!

I have started taking a B-Complex vitamin and this has helped up my energy a bit. That along with yoga.

I can relate. The fatigue gets bad sometimes, but I have never really associated it with Met. Perhaps that is something I personally should look into.

I have also experienced this exhaustion since I started met. Last night I think I had a hypoglycemic episode, so I am going to be more careful about eating small, frequent meals to keep my blood sugar levelled. I think that because my body is working more efficiently my blood sugar has been low, leading to my exhaustion. I'm going to ask my doctor about this next appt.

I also have been feeling kind of low on energy... and I thought I was just either being lazy, or just didn't have enough sleep... but maybe it's a side effect- I think that all three of my meds list "fatigue" on the side effects lists... *sigh* it really stinks because I have to get up early for nursing skills lab in the morning on fridays, and early for other classes or work the rest of the week.

yes...there is a long thread about this here somewhere...I have started taking my larger dose right before bed and I feel 100 percent better now. On the lower doses I had more energy than before but now that I am up to 2500 I was soooo exhausted. I feel good taking 1000 in the morning and 1500 at night for some reason.

you know I am fatigued alot and never thought to associate it with Met either, but in the beggining it upset my stomach something horrible now im used to it.

It did however help me lose about 20lbs without even excercise when i started it so i guess thats a plus right?? LoL

Unhappy Glumetza Makes Me Exhausted!!!

Well I'm not taking Metformin anymore. I couldn't even make it to work for the vomitting. But I'm on Glumetza and I am so extremely exhausted, it's not even funny. I can hardly get moving in the am and can hardly make it through the day. Does anyone else on Glumetza have this problem??
