Question Experience with Cytotec? (TMI warning)

Sadly, yesterday I was rx Cytotec to induce a miscarriage. Our baby's heart stopped beating. So, I started it yesterday afternoon and all was going well...cramping about 2 hrs later, bleeding started about an hour after that. I passed a few large clots, in the first clot there were two of the pills. The cramps were getting bad a couple hours later so I took a vicoden and went to bed. Still cramped, but the bleeding has slowed to just enough bright red blood and a few tiny clots when I wipe...nothing on the pad.

I'm just wondering...has anyone had experience with this drug? If so, is there a "normal" process of expelling the uterine contents? Will the bleeding pick up again? Should I call the Dr? I'm just so confused (in addition to every other feeling) and just want it all to be over. It's 3:45 a.m. here and I can't sleep.....

TIA,
Jen

Sorry about your loss
I was required to take it 4 or 5 times till I passed everything. I found it would give me cramping and bad contractions for a few hours then stop.
After going to a new RE I was told that it can cause scarring of the uterus...not sure if this true but I have no reason not to believe this RE.
If by chance and your uterus has not shed everything please look into other options before taking another dose.
(((Hugs)))

jenn,
I am sorry for your loss.
Can you request an u/s or bloodwork to make sure everything is gone? Sorry to sound so clinical.

Please feel free to post here anytime...the ladies on this thread are SO helpful and supportive.

No experience with the drug, but I'm very sorry your baby's gone.

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts.

Some of the tissue came out last night, but I have to take another dose tonight. So, we'll see. Also, I will do the bloodwork tomorrow and based on the numbers will do another a couple days after that.

Just taking it easy today....
