Default Extended bleeding help

Ok. I started bleeding Jan 1st, and bled until Jan 20th. Then I started bleeding again on Jan 29th and am still bleeding. I started BC pills 3 weeks ago, and my dr figured that would stop it. It hasn't. I called my dr about it yesterday, and she wants me to come in for a sonogram. I am scared that something is really wrong. Does anyone have any experience with this? What are they looking for and what could it be? Thanks!

Anything they could be looking for. FIbroids, the lining of your uterus, cysts.
I have been bleeding on and off since the week of Thanksgiving. I am having a D&C done in 2 weeks.
Good Luck!

Try not to worry too much. It is good that you have a doc who is actually going to check you out. I have had this problem also. And until recently was just put on bcp, where they have you take the whole pack in 9 days, which makes your period stop.

I have had my period for over 2 months at a time, and also have been anemic. About 6 years ago when it happened I ended up with a blood transfusion. And I'm only telling you this, because just now they checked me for everything, (ultra sounds, biopsys, blood work) and there is nothing wrong with me. (haha, well not nothing, it is the PCOS!) But really, I am just learning how much it can do to your body, and it may just be your pcos and nothing else.

But it is always good to get checked out to be safe, also if they don't already run the tests, make sure they check to see if you are anemic.

Good luck to you!
