Default Extended release or normal Metformin

I have been on Gluchophage ER for 3 weeks now, I have tried normal release metformin a few years ago but came off afer a couple of weeks as it made me feel so sick

I know its ony been 3 weeks but I have not noticed any effects no wieght loss, improvements in skin , and no side effects at all. My appetite is the same.

Would norma release be better, would the sickness go away after a while if I stuck with it,

I suppose I want to loose weight and improve my skin more then anything , plus I would like my period which I dont get at all.

I am wondering if metformin is doing anythng at all

Ive never been on the extended release, only the normal. I find if I ease my way on to it I feel sick but only for a week or so. Your body adjusts to it, well mine does anyways. Im dieting so I dont know if its affecting my weight or not but I definitely notice a difference in my skin.

I would give the extended-release a try... I've never been on anything else (actually take fortamet, pretty sure they're similar), and haven't had horrible symptoms, just, um, frequent bathroom trips when I eat stuff I shouldn't. Haven't had any painful symptoms or sickness. If it's covered by your insurance, you've got nothing to lose.
