I have read until my eyes are bleary for the past several weeks and I need opinions. My DH and I have been TTC for what feels like forever. I am dieting my butt off, and need to know what I should take to promote ovulation and conception. Also, wondering if anyone has suggestions for DH.

Some history:
Me- If there is a symptom associated with PCOS, I probably have it. To name a few that I am particularly concerned about at this time... Insulin resistance. High testosterone and androgen. Low progesterone. Anovulatory cycles. Very heavy, painful cycles. Oddly, the one thing that might be working in my favor is that they come fairly regularly, every 28-36 days, since I quit taking BCP a few years ago.

DH- Healthy as a horse until a check up three weeks ago let us know that he has an enlarged prostate and very low testosterone. He is already having testosterone injections. His doctor's only advice being any male fertility supplement will be fine.

The TTC boards directed me here, your advice is much appreciated.

Hello to all you NPC users. I am anovulatory, and have tried using NPC to induce a period just to keep things cleaned out. I started using it September of last year. I had a period in September, October, November, December, January, and to my surprise I ovulated on my own in February. In March, I delayed to see if I would ovulate again, and now am getting ready to start again (spotting and cramping so I'm sure she's coming)

anyhow, my question is this...can any of you tell me why I am bleeding while using the cream? I kept going because it is at least giving me a cycle, but I am wondering if I need to change the dosage, or what may be causing the bleeding. I use the cream (Emerita progest, premeasured packets) one in the morning and one in the evening. Normally on day 25 or so, because if I do ovulate, it is about day 22 or so. I have an alarm set so I use it at 9am and 9pm each day. I rotate application spots (Neck, Check, Wrists, Tummy, Thighs), but it seems I always start bleeding while using the cream (about a week into it.). From reading on the internet, it seems that this is not how it is supposed to happen. It is my understanding that I am supposed to use the cream for about 14 days and then stop and have withdrawl bleed.

I appreciate any advice.
Thanks in advance!

Sharon

Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker here for some months looking at alternative remedies. I have been trying to deal with PCOS for around 8 years now and this forum has been a lifeline in many ways.

I could not bear the side effects of Metformin and gave it up years back. For the last 2 years AF happens only with medication. I started looking for alternative remedies and came across the thread on inositol and thought of giving it a shot. For the first time in my life, my neck which was a dark shade of black (I have a light wheatish complxn), started lightening. I still have acanthosis nigricans on some parts of my body including my cheeks but am hoping the inositol will help in the long run. However, AF did not come using inositol:(. I then added NAC, Magnesium Citrate, Omega 3 and Multivitamin to my list. Yet no periods, and the allopathic medicines I used to take to induce periods were giving me intolerable migraines. So I finally ordered some prog cream. Within days of using it I had my period. But along with it I now seem to have some new problems.

When my first AF using the cream happened, I had a very bad acne breakout. This was in Feb, and I still have some left from then.
My facial hair growth increased..
I have so much of hairfall now, I'm scared of washing my hair or combing it. It just comes off in bunches :bawling:. I also seem to have dandruff now.

I had these issues 5 years back when I first started considering getting some treatment for PCOS. At that time, I was put on Yaz and it helped. 2 years back I stopped Yaz, but these symptoms did not return however there was no AF either.

I had read that the migraines could be due to low progesterone levels, I also seemed to have most of the symptoms seen with estrogen dominance. Hence the decision to try the cream. I got my hormone levels checked on the 3rd day of the first cycle I had after using the cream. The results showed normal testosterone levels and a progesterone level of 0.04.

Has anyone gone thru this before? Should I stop using the cream or take additional supplements? Please help. I'm 33 and we would like to have a baby but my hormones seem to be so out of whack, I wanted to improve their levels before I go for fertility treatment again.

~Uma

Supplements:
Magnesium 800mg
Inositol 2000mg
Chromemate 400mcg
Progesterone cream
Omega 3

I have never felt anything like the energy charge in my arms and movement in body parts I wasn't moving. I go back Monday and they are putting needles in my tummy. They wanted to today but I wasn't dressed right for it (group setting no privacy) There is one thing I experienced that I am not sure what caused it. She put needles from the top of my head to my feet starting at feet and working up. When she did the ones in my head I saw "things" in my closed eyes like a dream but awake and they had "chasers" like a hand with the hand image 5 times behind following just off sync. I have never done drugged but I knew people that dropped acid and it looked like what they described on their trips. weird!
