I was diagnosed with PCOS in February of 2012, but I believe that I have had it for a while before I was diagnosed. Anyway, in September/October 2012, my cysts got pretty bad.. I was diagnosed with PCOS in February of 2012, but I believe that I have had it for a while before I was diagnosed. Anyway, in September/October 2012, my cysts got pretty bad.. I had one rupture at least 3 times that month. I was 303 pounds, but I have lost weight and am at 250. (I was diagnosed with a binge eating disorder, but have found freedom from it! It is a daily struggle, but I am stronger than I was before :goodvibes )

Up until this month, my cysts were not as bad as they had been. This month, I have already had one rupture. I have been in a lot of pain.I went to the ER before for this pain, and the doctor was afraid that my ovaries had twisted or something. I am frustrated and do not know what to do!! I have lost weight, and I know I still have more to lose. I have been told that I should go to an Endocrinologist that specializes in PCOS.

I have a doc that refuses to check my insulin levels and my hormone levels telling me "it is not cost effective nor is it important." Also telling me my "hormone levels will most likely be normal" Last time I checked they weren't and hardly ever are. All she wants to focus on is my sugar level, which has never been a problem only insulin, and my weight. She says those 2 things are the only thing that we need and if I start changing physically. Worst she won't send me to an OB to check on the dermoid my old RE in PA found on my last remaining ovary! Lost the first one to a dermoid and a cyst. She wants to see my ultrasound from my previous RE first. I have the option of finding a civilian doc but they are very limited. has anyone had this issue before with base doctors? Should I try to switch to a different base doctor or switch to civilian all together. Right now I am at NAS Jax but could switch to Mayport and then maybe they could send me out to specialists instead of having to go to NAS Jax. Or have you found that a civilian doctor is just better to have if you can.

Hey ladies- wondering if any of you have experienced spotting and very unpredictable flows during cycles?

Was on BCP for a year, got off in Jul and had 2 great normal cycles then NOTHING for 5mths! My cycles finally started again in Mar after 3 months on Met 1500mg and my cycles started with about 5-7 days of light spotting (brown then red then pink then brown again...) followed by a light/med flow of red/brown for about 5 days followed by spotting for a few more days...

My current cycle (looooooong) started on CD59 and has been very light one day, brown the next day, medium red the next day and almost NOTHING the next day... I thought it was pretty much over - BAM - BRIGHT red pretty heavy flow today (CD5)?

SO confused and never experienced this. I am temping and temps are ALL OVER THE PLACE= no pattern whatsoever and def not Oing? Doesn't seem like PCOS symptoms and praying it's not endo... I am not in pain but just haven't read much about random cycle flow patterns. Does anyone have similar cycles? I felt happy because at least AF was showing her face but now I am just worried it could be something other than the PCOS.. polyps? endo? cysts? Please help!

Has anyone ever had that happen? Google says nothing about it being related to hormones, and claims its because of dehydration or an infection. I have not been drinking any less than I usually do - in fact I've been drinking MORE lately in an attempt to get rid of this (I've also been gargling salt water). I also refuse to accept that I have any kind of infection (Other than it being incredibly annoying, there are no other symptoms that suggest an infection).

I'm going to bring it up at my appointment at the end of the month, but I was curious if anyone else has encountered this problem.

I started cilest (35/250) age 18-21 and recently changed to a new third generation pill called Millinette (30/75). I stopped taking it for the month on monday, and didn't get my period until tuesday (so counting this day 1 of my cycle). Then i started taking my pill on friday as the pill free week had elapsed. So far i've taken 10 pills, added on the 3 days i'm on CD13 roughly. Yesterday i had strange cramps, but not quite in my tummy, so not sure if it was related to ovulation, it seemed a little further down and in the middle, and wasn't an intense pain but a mild cramping. I was wondering is it possible that since i was on such a heavy pill and reduced to considerably lower dosage pill, could i possibly have ovulated? Not sure as the pain was not where expected (not to the side) and lasted all day although not really painful. What do you think?

At first I thought it was my imagination until I really started seeing it in pictures. My skin looks old. Like menopausal old - I apologize to anyone reading this who might be going through menopause right now but do you know what I mean? Menopausal skin often looks thinner, more transparent, more pale...older. I see similar things happening to my Mom's skin but she's 62 and just went through menopause so I'd say it's pretty normal in her case. I know it's related to my messed up hormones some how (although I thought pregnancy might cause it to rebound) but just wondering if anyone else has this? I'm 32 so my face is too young to start taking on this look (although it still breaks out like I'm 15....).

I just heard the results from my blood work. My concern was originally Androgen Excess, and excess unwanted hair. I've suffered for years and just wanted an answer because something wasn't right. My LH was higher than my FSH so for that the doc ordered an ultrasound. I've always suspected PCOS but I've never had my levels checked. What I'm more concerned about is the MRI of my Pituitary gland. Has anyone had this done? Do you deal with hyperprolactinemia in addition to your PCOS? Is this commonly checked when you get checked for PCOS as well? If you did what was the outcome?

The doctor said they ordered this because I had over twice the normal threshold of Prolactin. I'm really worried that they are going to find a pituitary tumor, but maybe if they shrink it my PCOS symptoms will go away. I wanted an answer but I'm kind of scared now. I'm not sure what they will find with the MRI. I'm new to all of this so any thoughts on how you dealt with your initial tests to get the diagnosis and what other things you have dealt with especially if it was hyperprolactinemia or Pituitary issues I need your thoughts.

When I was first diagnosed with PCOS I was placed on Sprintec 30mg. This worked very well with mood swings, depression, and anxiety (I have yet to find anything that improves the extra hair). I felt like I had become a new person. After two years of taking the Sprintec I began having intense migranes. The doctor ran all kinds of tests, preformed CT's to check for brain tumors, the whole nine yards. Thankfully soon enough the culprit turned out to be the birth control. I was placed on Lo Loestrin to see if it lessened the amount of migranes I had but soon after this change in medication I experienced brain fog, confusion, heightened anxiety, and my period stopped. I was then placed on Loestrin 24, no period only brown discharge once a month with horrible PMS. I could handle my symptoms no more! My doctor put me back on the Sprintec (due to my demand of saying I can handle migranes better than feeling like I'm crazy) and so far my moods have gotten better but I still have problems with feeling like I am completely losing my mind. I am forgetful, sensitive, depressed, and my sleep patterns have fallen off schedule. When I preform simple tasks as washing the dishes or taking the shower it feels like someone else is doing it instead of me (so weird, I know!) It's almost like a constant out of body experience when the symptoms come (mainly 4-5 days before I start my period, maybe 2 days into the period itself). It's terrifying at times and discouraging because I feel like it's coming from the PCOS or the birth control. Has anyone experienced these issues? If so, what is your story? Your diagnosis if given one?

Thank you for the support! :i_heart:
