Keep taking Provera after AF starts?

I am on day 7 of provera (I have a 12 day supply). Since last night I have started heavy spotting and cramping, and it seems like AF is pretty much here. I know that most people don't start until after they stop taking it. But if I do start full force, should I finish out the 12 days or stop? I don't want to do anything that might mess up next cycle!

So... I have said before that I am currently taking 10mg of Provera for 10 days. I finished my tenth pill last Wednesday. Today is 6 days... I was concerned that something was wrong so I called my doctor, he said that usually if AF does not come in 3-4 days after last pill, sometimes this means that you may have ovulated and it delays the start of AF... has this happened to anyone, and if so... if DH and I had sex during ovulation could I get pregnant and stay pregnant? Confused. Plain and simple. LOL.:worried:

Spiro side effect problem

Ok so I have been taking spiro for about 6 months now and for the past few months i have had a couple wierd side effects: first is that it is making my BP drop really fast, so fast I almost pass out from it.
The other is that it has been acting as an appitiet supressent, it has gotten to the point where my bf is almost begging me to eat everyday, but it has gotten to the point where the thought of eating makes me feel sick to my stomache, if i see or smell food I am no longer hungry, or if i am starving and something even slightly upsets me I cannot eat. I usually eat about 500-1000 calories a day.

when i went to my doctor she was happy with the weight loss, it had been 10 pounds in less than a month, and i told her why and she didnt seem to care.
I would stop taking it but my BP gets so high it makes me useless for the rest of the day.
Over the past two to three months it has been around 25 pounds and im getting worried.
Any advice on what I should do?

Thanks,
Michelle

BCP alternative?

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I'd been on birth control for 10 years before I realized how much it affected me emotionally. When I went off I had spotting twice in 10 months, my doc did an ultrasound and diagnosed me with PCOS. I have normal insulin levels but my acne was terrible. In my 10 years on bcp, I tried about 5 different kinds of pills, nuvaring, the patch and now merina IUD, hoping the lower levels of hormones would not make me crazy. No luck (thought the acne went away), I'm always sad and stressed out, not like me at all.
Is the ovary drilling just for someone looking to get pregnant? I am not trying to get pregnant for a couple of years. I work out 5-6 days a week and eat healthy, but that hasn't helped regulate my cycle.
I know this is a lot of information, but I can't find a lot of good information for someone with normal insulin levels. Thanks for your help.

So if anyone could help me out with their spiro experiences, the good and the bad...I'd greatly appreciate it :D

Hey all!

I just started back into my routine metformin, actos, spironolactone, lexapro coctail... and I haven't been able to sleep. I flip flop until about 5 am, when I eventually fall asleep. Does anyone have this same problem, or had it when they first began taking their medications? In other words, will the flip-floppy nights soon cease?

Thanks for your help :)

Provera Question

I searched thru all the threads and couldn't seem to find the answer to my questions so if this has been asked before please forgive me :)

My Dr prescribed me Provera on Monday because i've only had 2 periods all year. One in Feb and one last week.

She told me to wait about 6 weeks and if I haven't had a period on my own to take the provera.

We aren't currently TTC, we're wanting to wait until June/July. But my question is this....could I still ovulate while taking Provera?? She said i'm probably not ovulating because of how irregular I am. She said charting my temp would be a waste of time because until I get regular I won't ovulate.

I don't know if maybe she only said it would be a waste of time because we aren't actively trying or if it really is a waste of my time.

Even though we aren't actively trying I would like to know if i'm ovulating.

I don't know what I would start charting though while on Provera.

So I guess my questions are....Can I ovulate while taking Provera?? Should I start charting my temp just in case or at least to get used to it? And when would I start charting? Or does that matter?

Also when would you suggest I start taking the provera, I wanna get this going so i've been tempted to start it early but I did just have a period end on Saturday so I don't wanna mess anything up even more. I'm just ready to get things started ya know.

Well I hope this wasn't totally confusing, I just have so many thoughts running thru my head lol.

Oh and I should mention that I do not have PCOS, been tested but do not have it. I just found this board a few months ago and found so much useful info on here that I just had to join :)

Thanks in advance for any advice, suggestions, help you can offer!
