hi everyone,
just a quick question...........
woke up this morning ok, after breakfast started getting a dull ache like a normal period pain, which developed to absolute agony within 1/2 hour, severe pain on my left side, and down my thighs, round to my back(a little like labour) it even made me vomit, i do have a high pain tolerence, so for me to complain it is usually sore!
i'm 34, self diagonsed pcos back in 2003, thereabouts, when ttc and was getting nowhere, thought things had settled down, but when i think about it i tend to get these pain episodes every 2 yrs or so,
has anyone else ever expirenced this, or anything like it?
i did have a bleed yesterday, thought it was the start of my period, but have had nothing all day today, so i'm a little frustrated,
not my appendix, had that out last year!
am not on any medication, though i did reach for the ponstan this morning!
maybe it could be a cyst bursting, might have to go to doctor on monday anyway, but as usual i am sure it will be the usual run around, suck it up, etc!!!!
would love to hear if anyone else has the same expirence?
or any ideas on what to do
thanks.

Hi,

I'm 31, single and have just been diagnosed with PCOS.

I've had symptoms for over 10 years now, had a miscarriage when I was 19, had no luck since then trying to get pregnant which ultimatley ended my relationship, I now know there is a reason for my "problems" TTC.

I've had the blood tests, the ultrasound scan, and I'm now waiting on an appointment with an endocrinologist.

I've been trying to get my head round all this but I'm a bit lost, I don't know what I should be asking them when I do get the appointment in.

I feel like I've been given so much information that I'm overloaded and just can't seem to make head nor tail of it.

Can you help?

What should I be asking them?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Everyone!

I've just found this site, wish I'd found it earlier!

I have a nearly-four-year-old daughter, have been ttc since November 2007 and last year got diagnosed with PCOS. I've tried to lose weight but can't seem to shift more than a few pound. My doctor is rubbish and won't consider me for Metformin or Clomid etc - he just insists I lose weight! I think the pressure to lose weight is actually counterproductive and is having the opposite affect upon me...

My AF is so random... sometimes 4 months, sometimes 30 days. However my last two were consistent, one in early September and one in early October. We bd'd a lot around 21st October (had thick creamy cm, sorry tmi) and for the last 7 or 8 days I've had really sore, heavy boobs and have had more fluidy, watery cm. No sign of AF though.

I do an ov test every single day and have done for 2 years. I've never ever had a pos result. However I'm wondering what others experience of these are? I was told they're a waste of time?

I've also done a few pg tests as the sore boobs can be a sign of pg (it was with my first pg) but again negative.

We haven't bd this week as dh has been away a lot.. I wonder if the boob soreness together with fluidy cm is a sign of ovulation? Anyone experienced this? Even though my ov tests say no.

Sorry if I sound naive, I'm not very familiar with it all. As I said my doctor isn't very helpful and hasn't even carried out proper tests on me (except a scan to determine and confirm PCOS). I do need to lose a good 3 or 4 stone to get to a normal weight...

Any advice appreciated. Hope to stay on board this site!

Hi..
Well, I'm new here and i came across the site through endless research into PCOS. Myself and my husband have been trying for a baby for four years and nothing was happening, So off i trotted to the doctors to see what was wrong.

Hundreds of bloodtests got sent off and came back abnormal levels of hormones. Periods became more scattered and have gradually stopped completely, I haven't had one since September 08.

We were sent to a fertility clinic at our local hospital where an internal scan was done and 15 - 20 cysts were found on both ovaries. Sent back to the GP with results, more bloods done and of course it was announced I was infertile.
My entire world pretty much collapsed on that day (November 2nd 2007) and I've been terrified ever since.

I currently get lumps and boils on my inner thighs, Infected spots on my breasts, No periods, Acne on my upper arms and so much excess body hair I'm beginning to feel like the missing link. I'm also overweight. I was 111kg at my last weigh in (yesterday) at the GP where he finally caved in and gave me Oxytetracycline 250mg tablets to help with my spots.

He's refusing me Metformin until i lose weight but i simply can't do it. I've been trying for years and i just can't lose it. I can't go to weight watchers because i can't stand infront of real people and be weighed, I was in a violent relationship before i met my husband and my self confidence was completely destroyed. Now i can't even go to the local shop without having anxiety attacks and blackouts.

So basically i'm in a bit of a mess.. Hoping some of you can possibly help, if not, it would be nice to just have someone say 'I understand'

I feel like a complete outcast to society.

But anyway, I'm Vivica, I suffer from PCOS, Anxiety attacks, Bi polar dissorder and depression and as mentioned before, I'm new here.
Thanks for reading :i_heart:

Anyone got PROGESTERONE (like Prometrium) prescribed in the UK?

Hello girls, I was wondering if anyone has had bio-identical or micronized progesterone (in pills, suppositories or cream) prescribed under the NHS in the UK. And if so, what was the name/mg of the medication?

I am TTC and was given Provera to induce my periods by hospital consultant (whom I'll only see again end Jan to then start Clomid). I never used the Provera as got my periods naturally and this month I seem to have ovulated.

I have low progesterone and asked my GP yesterday to be given Prometrium or something similar to support my progesterone levels should I be pregnant. I was told by GP she did not know what Prometrium is and to use the Provera, that it was safe until 12 weeks pregnant... I asked for a blood test to check my progesterone level at 8 DPO this month, and will see her again next week to get results. She said she will look into what Prometrium is and if can be given under NHS.

Would be very helpful to know what other ladies in the UK got given, thank you :star:Maria x
