So my OB prescribed Prometrium because my progesterone levels were low when I had bloodwork done and when I got it home, after paying through the nose, I read the side effects and there was some risks of stroke if you have to be in a sitting or laying down position for very long...

Well I am in a wheelchair and I couldn't take BC pills because I was in the chair, so wouldn't this be the same thing? When I called the OB practice, another OB in the practice said I didn't need to take it, she didn't feel as if it even worked so don't bother taking it if I didn't want to.

Umm a little confused over here...anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!

VERY disapointed with gender prediction from U/S tech

I had my amnio today...I am 15w6d.

No problems...went very smoothly...no after affects.

But the U/S tech said she thought it was a boy, but not to hold her to that...it being so early and all...

I'm terribly disapointed about this. I wanted another girl very much. Really don't want to have a boy AT ALL. Have no interest in raising a boy.

No particular reason why I feel this way. Just do.

With my first, both my husband and I wanted a girl very badly. We still both really want a girl.

Anyway...thanks for letting me cry into my beer LOL

I'll know for sure in 2 weeks...Still holding out hope for a girl.

I'm not sure what is going on. I've had sore BBs for the past week, along with CM for a week and 1/2 and thought for sure I was pg. Due to start AF 11/18 but started 11/19. Very light flow, only on TP. Never fills a pad-only a few drops. Kinda crampy. Usually I'm very heavy, at least the first 2 days anyway. I kinda want to wait and see if the bleeding continues to test. Or could it be the PCOS?? Has anyone experienced this??

Help! Pregnancy Acne is OUT OF CONTROL!

Ladies, I need your help. My acne has gotten so out of control since I got pregnant. I've always struggled with acne on my chin and around my mouth, but not severely. Like maybe 3-4 zits per month, although they're always big, cystic zits that hang around for a while.

I stopped using any and all acne medicine as soon as I found out i was pregnant. I would generally use a face wash with salicylic acid in it, but I read that it's a no-no in pregnancy. I don't often use benzoyl peroxide anyway because it just dries out my skin and doesn't treat the acne.

So anyway, now I have as many as 6 or more active zits at all times, and they've spread from just my chin to now all the way up my cheeks and on my forehead. It's horrible! They're big, raging, and painful, and they often leave ugly purple scars.

I just switched to bare minerals make up, which seems to do a better job of covering the acne and I'm hoping it will be better for my skin and contribute less to future acne.

Beyond that, I have no idea what to do! My skin is dry and oily at the same time. It's just a mess. Help me, please!!!!

Tylenol Question

Hello all! I have a quick question...its been a few years, I remember that its safe to take tylenol, but is it safe to take any type of tylenol? I'd prefer to take nothing, I'm pretty 'anal' pregnant, no cold meat, little to no chinese, etc etc, all those things they tell you. Unfortunately, I've been suffering for migraines for years, and while the tylenol doesn't completely get rid of it, it does take the edge of sometimes enough to function. I feel like I'm getting one now, but the only type of tylenol I have here is the 'fast release' kind. Is that safe??

Thanks ladies!

Hi... today I went for my second ultrasound. I am supposed to be 7 weeks along. The baby was only measuring a little over 6 weeks, just a little larger than it was on 11/13, and they couldn't find his little heartbeat. I have another ultrasound on Tuesday, and if there is still no heartbeat then I with have a D&C on Wed or Thurs. Great way to spend Thanksgiving don't you think. I am so scared. My husband and I have tried for over 4 years to get pregnant, and now... Please pray that there will be a heartbeat on Tues.

Thank you!

What sort of discharge is normal?

Warning: TMI

I was having what I consider to be normal discharge but the past few days it has become thin and watery. In the past sometimes yeast infections gave me very watery yet clear discharge. It's not slimy either like normal vaginal discharge. It's water-like. If I neglect to put a pantyliner in I need to change my undies halfway through the day. I feel lie a little kid who peed her pants.

I am calling my doc in the morning, but does anyone know if this is normal?

I ran out of Met when I was about 5 pg. Now I'm almost 6 weeks and I just got me prescription renewed. It took a week because my Dr. wanted me to do blood work again. She says my blood work is normal and I don't need the Met. I'm more comfortable being on it though, at least for first trimester. Is it ok to start up again after not being on it for 5 days??
I know some Dr.s don't think you need Met while pg but are their negative effects?

Thanks for your thoughts!!

I went through a lot to get pregnant: several rounds of Clomid and two rounds of IVF. I want to have a baby SO badly!!! Anyway, today, I went in for a vaginal ultrasound, and the doctor could not find the sac. Upon leaving the center, I became completely hysterical. Today, they called me back and said that my betas had doubled "appropriately". 4 days ago, the level was 300 something. Today (21 days post retrieval, so 5 weeks pregnant officially), my level was 1,077. The nurse said that if the doctor did not find a sac on Monday (in 4 days), it would mean an nonviable pregnancy. I am totally freaked out. Any thoughts? Advice? Thanks!

This is my first baby and I am so very excited.

How do I tell my sister?

My sister has been trying to get PG for over 2 years now. For the first 18mo, she didn't really have medical supervision; then for the last year, she's been seeing a fertility specialist, and has now moved on to a Chinese medicine doctor.

At the end of 18mo w/o med. supervision, they attempted 3 times to induce AF with provera (?) with no luck, so her OB sent her on to a fertility specialist.

She did 6mo of clomid with no AF, no Oing, no luck. Then, she's did 6mo of FSH with no AF, no Oing, no luck. A couple of months ago, her fert. dr recommended the Chinese medicine specialist that I saw to get PG. Now, this blew my sister away because when I told her about it, she didn't believe me at all. She thought it was hokey, even though I had proof that it worked. So, when her dr. specifically recommended the person I'd seen, my sis was not happy. She's so messed up from the hormones that it was like my saying "I told you so" even though I had nothing to do with it. She was actually really angry with me about it.

Now she's been seeing this Chinese med. specialist who thinks it's going to be an uphill battle for my sis to get PG. And my sis is an absolute wreak.

I'm of course not going to break the news to her for a while, but I need some suggestions on how to do that and what to expect as a reaction.
