I would first like to start off by saying taking a quality fish oil/omega 3 supplement has helped with acne tremendously (in addition to met/better diet)...but i still have some issues and oily skin...I have tried every topical treatment/face wash under the sun--department store brand and cheaper over the counter as well...I recently ordered "philosophy" purity made simple cleanser and microdelivery exfoliating cleanser and alternate b/w the 2...they have both received rave reviews on the net all over and so far my skin looks more glowing, is staying clearer, and does not feel overly tight or stripped as with some acne meds...Though its still early in my usage i wanted to suggest it and see if anyone else has tried them?

Have been trying for few days to not wear foundation or concealer, which has been difficult to do, but feel like my skin has improved, pores less blocked, old spots healing quicker. Not sure if this is wishing thinking and just wondered what other people experienced and whether you opt to cover your spots or not?

Hi everyone.

After a visit to a new derm, I now feel quite depressed. She told me that I have non-inflamed acne that cannot be treated--what the heck?? I only get this during pms time, little clogged pores on my jawline that look like tiny bumps. I know it's not that bad, but I hate them!

She said even accutane wouldn't get rid of this.

Is there anything I can do?

Hi I've been on Yaz for 3 months now and have noticed improvements with other symptoms but not my skin! In fact, if anything, my skin seems worse now than it was before! I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and seen an improvement after 3 months?!

Another thing is I've started noticing light brown marks on my skin. They are circular, sort of like rings. I have some on my lower neck/collar bone and some going down my stomach just under my chest.. I have no idea what these are! They don't hurt at all, I can't feel them.. I can't find anything about them online either! If anyone has any idea I'd love to hear!

Thanks

Hi everyone! :) I am on Spironolactone for acne and excess body hair and have been on it for 2 months now but it doesnt seem to be helping, in fact my acne has been so much worse since I started! Im hoping my skin will start to clear soon..thought the scars will take a while..I currently have about 30 very red zits on my face. Anyone else experience this on Spiro? And did it start to get better? Ive heard it can take up to 6 months to work.. Im not liking paying 30$ a month for Spiro and it making my acne worse! Its hard for me to be patient here.

28 (almost 29) and wrinkles

In a picture from a vacation last Summer I noticed some wrinkles on my forehead. I looked in the mirror when I got home and saw that my skin looks smooth from straight on but from the side there are crease lines in between my eyes and lined wrinkles on my forehead.

I went to the dermatologist and she said "Well you're getting older ..." She suggested a moisturizer for my skin (which is somewhat dry in the winter) and regular sunscreen.

I'm still self-conscious about the lines though - I bought this night cream from Avalon organics and my skin does look softer but the wrinkles are still there.

My mom said she could make me an appointment in Miami (where I am from and my parents live) to see a doctor and check about Botox but I am not sure that I want to start using it .... I had always hoped to go the natural route but I really don't know what to do.

Anyone in the same boat or have suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Oily skin regime revelation

By no means am I acne free at the moment but changing my face wash/moisturiser has definetly helped.

I feel so fooled at the beauty industry, for years I have been buying face wash and moisturisers for oily/combination/acne prone skin always trying to buy oil free products. These didn't work and despite my face being so dried up after using them a few hours later and my face was so oily i felt any makeup I put on would slide off.

I got so fed up I decided another approach so I bought face wash and moisturiser for dry/sensitive skin enriched with oils (almond and something else -nivea). I was shocked to discover my face has not been oily at all during the day really, not dry, not oily, and a lot calmer. What a revelation. When I think about it now, it makes sense. Buying products to strip my face of oils was only making my face compensate by producing more oils. Using a face regime that doesn't means my face doesn't over compensate and isn't as oily.

Anyway just wanted to post this as it seems obvious, but I had no idea before

Hi Ladies

I just want to share--I was on met 1000 er daily and BC...recently I stopped the BC b/c I wanted to give my body a break (was on for so long)...and my cycle has gotten wakky (every 40 days or so if that) and so has my skin--I started breaking out with a new pimple everyday. It has really taken a toll on me and my self esteem...I research all the time with PCOS and symptoms and am always up for supplements and diet tweak before going back to meds (debating on going back to BC but I hear some circles believe it makes IR worse)...I tried a quality GNC fish oil supplement with listed Epa/Dha (900 mg 2x daily) and my complexion has brightened, my moods a bit more even and better, and best of all so far no new breakouts *crosses fingers* :hail:...it has only been a few weeks but it has been a huge difference for me b/c it affects me so much...Im sure its no cure all but its a great addition to those especially suffering from acne--just google fish oil and acne and read up if you're interested...I wanted to share in case it truly works and can help out someone else somewhat

Hi everyone! It's me again rambling about acne :)

After some research(for about 50 hours!) on acne.org, I learned that small non-inflamed bumps could be fungus. I think this is what I have! (aside from pms pimples) I have colorless bumps along my jawline that don't respond to regular acne treatments and don't go away on their own. I always pick on them (bad I know), and there's nothing in them. I'm going to a derm in a few days to ask about this.

So, I just wanted to tell you fellow cysters about it...and ask if anyone experiences/experienced something like that before :)
