Has anyone else experienced extreme dry mouth while taking Metformin? It seems that after dinner I feel like someone stuck a vacuum hose on my tongue, it's so dry! The weird thing is that I have been taking 2000mg of Metformin for at least 8 months and have only started experiencing this within the last few weeks with no recent dietary changes. I've tried drinking lots of water but that doesn't help at all. Has anyone else experienced this and have tips on how to deal? |

Just wanted to say when I am on Metformin I get that also....don't know much more about it but you are not alone

I just started retaking Met and I have side effects I never had before. I was on 2000mg a day before I had Isaac 7 yrs ago....now I am on 500mg and have to step up to 2000mg. This go around I have horrid intestinal problems and very realistic dreams.....extremely dry mouth....and i get a bit floaty feeling. never had it before....strange how the body works!

Hubby DX w/ testicular cancer 6/01 had right orchiectomy and radiation treatment. Currently count is at 2mill, so PRAY FOR SOME SPERMIES!!

I just recently started on Met and I've noticed dry mouth too. No matter how much h2o I drink, it doesn't help. Not sure if it's a coincidence with starting the met or not.....

I've been on Met for about 2 months. I noticed 2 weeks ago, roughly, I have really dry mouth. Nothing makes it better, no matter how much, or what I drink. I wondered if that might be the reason. Guess so... | |

HI there, I also get a very dry mouth I find it more so in the morning...I to drink lots of water and it doesn't really go away...it does however appear to get better as the day goes on........ | |

I did for the first month on met. Suck on a jolly rancher or some other type of hard candy. It will help.
