Default extreme hunger

after years of irregular periods i'm lucky enough to actually feel ovulation and menstruate every month. however, the symptoms prior are SO frustrating. i get sad, extremely tired, really achy, and lately extremely hungry. i can eat anything and everything. anyone have any suggestions on how to curb this? i tend to eat emotionally sometimes but about a week before my period i'm seriously hungry, and can't quite seem to fill up.

Default Me too!!!!!

I get that way too! About a week before I start I am so tired and achy I think it is the flu or something, then I look at the calendar. I feel that I could eat everything in the kitchen and nothing seems to satisfy me! If I weren't on an antidepressant I would be a &itch! I hate it and am praying that menopause comes early! I had irregular periods all my life unless I was on bcp until I had ovarian drilling done to enable the eggs or follicles to get out. I was regular for about a year and a half and now I am semi regular.

This next cycle I am going to try eating spicy foods, they are supposed to give a temporary high from the endorphins released to ease the "pain". I am slowly getting used to spicy foods so I can handle eating them. I used to be such a wimp! I am on cd 14 so in about a week or so I will be having those symptoms again!

I used to have bad hunger cravings around AF time, especially for sugar! What I did to curb this is I changed my diet. Eating lots of fiber and protein makes you feel a lot fuller. Research has shown that people who eat eggs for breakfast (high in protein) consume an average of 400 calories LESS per day than people who don't eat eggs.

I eat Kashi Go Lean and Kashi Go Lean Crunch! cereal for breakfast every morning and it is loaded with fiber and protein. It holds me over until lunchtime no problem whereas I used to be STARVING before lunch. For lunch I will eat beans or lean meat of some sort and it really does cut those cravings! Also Spinach is a great source of protein, fiber and Vitamin A.

My last AF I didn't go sugar crazy or hungry at all. It really takes a diet change though. I haven't felt this good in my whole life! I also take Calcium supplements, One A Day Weight Smart, and 400 mg of extra Folic Acid a day. I also go to Curves 3 times a week and do Denise Austin videos 6 times a week.

I was regular this month on my own without pills or medicine for the first time in my life!
