Unhappy Extreme pain& cramping with AF, please read.

Hi, I was not sure where to put this post or rather or not to even do I post but I am gonna give it a try.I was dx with PCOS in Sept 2003 and am currently taking 1000 mg of met a day. I am wondering if anyone has really bad pain and cramping the day before AF starts and especially the first day of your period. I have cysts on my left ovary and that seems to be where the cramping and pain is coming from. Is this normal and has anyone else ever experienced this?? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading

Hi Sue. I also get really really bad AF pains the day before and the first day of my period. I have cysts on my left ovary as well, but my pain is mainly around my uterus and my back. It is really debilitating, but nothing I can do about it! I just get on with it as much as I can, though I usually have to take the day off from work. Do you get sick as well? I have very bad vomiting and diarrhea. I just hate those 2 days!!!!

I get really bad cramps the first day. The couch and heating pad become my best friends.

I wish I knew some thing to keep this from happening, but I guess it is just part of being a woman.

Yup, they completely go away after the first day and I'm fine. It has been this way since my first period, no exceptions. I have no idea why, and when I mention it to doctors, they just shrug and say that everyone is different.
