Default Extremely Fatigued

Is this linked to PCOS??? I have been soooooooo tired for the last few months..maybe as long as a year. I mean so tired, I have NO energy at all. I can go to bed at 7-8 after i put my son down and still not wake up in the mornings. my alarm goes off for an hour and a half most days before i can actually get up, and even then it is extremely hard. I just can't stand it anymore, and i want to know why?? Does anyone else have this problem??

Thanks so much!
Suzie

I don't know of fatigue being a symptom of PCOS. The only thing I could think of is if you have insulin problems that aren't being treated, it's possible that it's throwing your system out of whack? Or maybe your hormones are going nuts and making you tired. Being that tired isn't normal, though, so talk to your doctor.

It could be unrelated, though. I have problems with fatigue and waking up, also. For me, the main problem is sleep apnea. With sleep apnea, you stop breathing many times during the night, which wakes you up slightly and keeps you from getting a good night's sleep. If you've been told that you snore a little while you sleep, that's a possibility. And there are others...you really should talk to your doctor and see what's going on. Good luck! I know first hand that fatigue can be brutal, and many people don't have any sympathy for you.

Unhappy Before being treated

I could sleep all day and all night. I was having major problems in the night with sleeping. I felt extremely drugged when I would wake up in the a.m. and never felt rested when I would wake in the a.m. I have no clue what a major hormonal disorder has to do with sleep patterns (although I do think I had some sleep apnea related symptoms.) Mostly, though, I noticed If I would eat high carb, sugary foods, or high starch foods I would feel quite different than If I would eat high protein, low carb foods. I wonder if It has to do with extremely high insulin levels circulating, because I also felt mentally different. (As though I was in a fog most of the time). It has taken four years and alot of trial and error to discover what I can and cannot eat to feel good as well as being on meds. I had to severely change my diet and have realized that this is how life will have to be forever. Not fun exactly, but it is something I know "I" have to do to feel good. Being tired all the time was something I could not live with. Are you on meds? Have you tried Metformin? I take the XR version which gives a little dose gently through the day. It has been a miracle drug for me and I am so grateful to have my life back. Good Luck!
