Default eye problems, glaucoma

Does anybody know if eye problems, glaucoma specifically is a symptom of PCOS? My eye appt yesterday revealed to the dr that he thinks I have the beg. stages of glaucoma but he said that due to my hormonal imbalance it could be caused by that. I hate googling because I usually put so much anxiety/fear into my system i dont get anything accomplished.

Diabetes does cause glaucoma, and of course you know the PCOS/diabetes connection. You should get tested. Good luck!

Actually my optometrist told me I was Glaucoma suspect upon visiting her yesterday and I do suffer with PCOS. Have to go for more tests, will do my own research, was wondering if it was indeed related to PCOS, another thing to worry about on top of the multiple symptoms, will let you know what I find out. Good Luck!

On 1,500 mg Metformin per day.

I have a rare eye condition called uveitis, it's auto immune and no one ever figured out the cause....years later PCOS showed up.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing as glaucoma but everytime i go to the optometrist they tell me the pressure in my eyes are high..from the machine that blows the puff of air.. so we're agreeing that could be another symptom of pcos?

Glaucoma is not a symptom of PCOS, but it is very strongly associated with diabetes! Of course we know the PCOS-diabetes link.

Please, if you've been diagnosed with glaucoma or poor eye pressue you should get tested for diabetes!!

Well for me, uveitis is a secondary autoimmune disease, some say that PCOS is auto immune so there could be some connection.

Update:
I do not have glaucoma--all the tests point towards it but just have higher pressure then normal, I guess. Comes to find out that my dad is the same way so guess that is genetic also. I have massive dry eyes and am using drops but am very glad that I dont have glaucoma.
