Dave and I have decided again...China is where our next baby is, despite the wait times
I have to lose 20 pounds before the medical but that should be easy enough, I will do Dave's metabolic diet that he is doing well on (similar to Atkins) to qualify for the BMI garbage but...I can do it !! lots of salads and walking
OMG I am so excited to have made the decision and to be able to get things under way..I really wish we had done this months ago but we lost time for a reason I suppose...
WHOOHOOO !! Here we grow again

We are doing pretty well here. Only 29 days till Tom is home on leave--can you believe it? After he gets back over there it will be about another 10 weeks till he's home for good. IT's so neat to be in the homestretch.
The girls and I are doing really well--keeping busy but staying strong and plugging along.
I'll check in again really soon! Take care all!!

Well...to back track..they are saying China is going to take 5 +++ years .. who knows at this point ..
I am back to being torn .. is someone trying to tell us we should just be happy as a family of 4 ? I just cant help the nagging feeling that I am supposed to be mom to maybe just 1 more

Points: 6,316.75 Bank: 2,434,762.27 Total Points: 2,441,079.02 | I know that after we had Emily I was already thinking of how I wanted *just one more*. Dh was much more solid on it than I was. The moment we could start our paperwork he planned a visit to our agency-and brought the check book. I didn't have much say and if I did it certainly wasn't NO! lol I know it's a really hard decision but from my experience if you have that inkling that you just aren't done having babies-you probably aren't. I felt the exact same way before Katie. I felt incomplete still. Now I feel whole and I never long for *just one more* any longer. I have *never* felt this way in my life--like life is moving forward, sort of, if you kwim?
Good luck to all of you in that big decision. I know it must be torturous to have to make the decision with the way China is right now. I don't think I could stand the agony!! ugh.
On a whole other note, we have just 23 days till daddy is home on leave. Then we have a couple glorious weeks together before he returns to duty-then he is back for good in Feb sometime. Talk about life feeling on hold-but we are lucky to have the internet with email and IM'ing at our disposal. People out in the field don't have this opportunity so I'm lucky at least that he's in the position he is. We did have a sad few weeks with one of his soldiers dying. That was a miserable experience and here back home I am trying my best to support her family, and the other soldiers' families that are here. It's very hard-we all miss her dearly and are very sad for her family and fellow soldiers.
Other than that, the girls and I are doing really well. I'm very proud of how we did this past year, and of how strong I actually am. I getting through this in a relatively sane manner!!
That's my update. Hope you all are doing well with everything, too. HUGS

There's noooo way China'd ever take me anymore. I'm too fat and too poor. Could probably overcome the poor thing, but I've got WAY too far to go on the fat thing. Aside from which, the doc has me on antidepressants for PAD at least another month.
DH and I have talked about another. We both have that "not quite done yet" feeling. Our problem (aside from needing to move to a bigger house first!) is that while I have that "Oh I miss having a baby!" feeling, he's more on the side of "Babies do nothing but eat, sleep and poop, how about another toddler or preschooler?" I don't know that I could handle the rough transition with an older toddler again. I love Isabelle dearly, but she's been TOUGH!
Time will tell I suppose, in matters of children, mommy usually wins out. No sense worrying about it too much till we can get into a bigger house, which will probably be another year or two.

I would love to adopt special needs.
I would love to do something I just wish someone would pull and "Elf" on us and a baby would crawl in a shopping bag when I went shopping and be ours forever ! LOL
this is hard

My Mood: Points: 15,914.46 Bank: 27,086.55 Total Points: 43,001.00 | Amy, If you find the right agency, it's not unheard of for the CCAA to give a "waiver" for a special needs adoption. Meaning, they would say, "Well, you have everything else we ask for, and we really want this child to find a home, so we will waive the money requirement." Worth checking into anyways. The best agency I know for that kind of thing is IAAP. It's also very easy to get access to their waiting children list without applying to the agency, so you can just keep your eye out and only apply if you find your little one on their list. I have heard SOOOO many good things about this agency. They are the ones who found a family for Cao, the little boy with nevus that I fell in love with right after we brought Isabelle home. They were able to place him with a single mother when the CCAA was already denying such requests from other agencies even before the May deadline. They are also the agency that helped the lady who was being told she couldn't bring home her daughter because she was black. IAAP rocks! http://www.iaapadoption.com/index.php3
I think that Children's HOUSE has been good about getting waivers in the past as well (HOUSE, not HOPE.. we used Children's Hope and they will NOT even TRY!).

Isabelle's surgery is the day before her Gotcha Day, so we're going out to China Town with her God parents to celebrate the day before surgery.
