We all know that squeezing, scratching, or even touching the blemishes on our face is a big NO NO, and can aggravate our bothersome skin issues. However, if you're like me this is rather difficult.
I naturally rest my face on my hand, especially my chin where I break out the worst! I find myself inadvertently feeling around on my face for new "blooms", and am compelled to do something about them. I like to say it all roots back to 7th grade when Mom made me squeeze the giant very painful whitehead on my lip so I could play my trombone in that night's concert. Regrettably, I couldn't stop squeezing, and this has wreaked havoc on my delicate facial skin over the years.
So, in the spirit of doing good for myself and my self-image, I am trying my darndest to not squeeze and to touch my face less. My dermatologist put me on Tretinoin (and he "outed" my bad habit ), and the cream is currently making all those nasties come to the surface. I have mustered every ounce of will to just leave them alone, but I have tripped up 3 times. So I need some help. Some accountability. And I KNOW I'm not the only one out there with this "yucky" habit. Let's help each other foster beautiful glowing skin by LEAVING IT ALONE, and dishing out loving gentle support.

Me too. I think "if I can just squeeze it, it won't hurt anymore and it will go away" LOL. Only a few days later, it is bigger, more painful, and more ugly than ever

This cracks me up. It's so true! It is very difficult to stop messing with those ugly blemishes... but I admit, I too and guilty of picking! : I try but it frustrates me to no end that they won't go away faster.
Here's to no picking!!!!

Johanna- the mascara actually doesn't make it worse, remember I am only using the very dip, I dap very lightly and this is only after the pimple has dried and scabbed up. I dont like the scab, so the makeup makes a cute beauty mark.....LOL

I'm a fellow face picker as well. I can not stop..even though it may be bad. I gotta pop the zits (or mountains rather) and then I peel the scabs off. I know it's gross..but can't help it. I do need to get something for the acne..I have tried some kind of antibiotic for it, and it worked well, but as soon as the round of antibiotics were gone, the acne came right back.

Current Meds
Paxil 20 MG Daily
Prenatal once a day
Biotin once a day
Cut out all sodas and sweet's, drinking lots of water.
i am guilty of this aswell!
any little thing just needs to get picked and usually ends up worse in the end, if i just had left them alone they probably would not end up being the focal point of my face! lol
bad habit!!
Yay!! Other people pick too!! I had acne since i finished school and i have picked just about every one i get, its so terrible because i have scars but i can't stop!

Question: Have you ever tried to stop picking, and if you did, how did you try?
Sheer willpower doesn't seem to be cutting the mustard. I did great for more than a week, but then I gave in and squeezed them all a few days ago. Blek.

oh my gosh I thought I was the only one! I think it all started with my mom haha she is a picker too, no one left the house with an ugly white thing 'hanging' on our faces, lol. No matter how hard I try I can't stop touching my face. One time I tried to stop, and I noticed I touched my face and picked alllll day long. It's worse when I'm riding in the car and I am bored I just reach up and start messing, ug, I know better but I just can't stop!
