I use Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser. It is oil-free-and leaves a lovely tingling sensation on your face :-) I follow up with a 10% benzoyl peroxide spot treatment. A dermatologist once told me to use the Neutrogena facial bars, and said that using a medicated face wash only causes more irritation. I stopped using the bars because even with my oily skin, they made my face feel so dry!

I use warm water and a washcloth. That's it.

I have tried EVERYTHING....mary kay, avon, beauti control, arbonne, pears soap, neutrogena, clean and clear --- you name it, i've tried it. My absolute favorite is Noxzema. I have not found anything that works that well. I have to make sure that I use a cream because it does dry out the face - but it works wonders compared to everything else i use.

My biggest issue is that I get acne everywhere! and I can't find a good body soap to get rid of it. But i definitely recommend Noxzema for your face.

I use neutrogena cleanser/mask with salicylic acid, I actually bought it by mistake by found out that it is a grat mask, I also found the SOS Shine Mask Botanical Mattifying Mask fromYves Rocher - it is amazing!!!

I use Cetaphil. I think everything else is way too drying to the skin and when the skin is dry then you create more oiliness and breakouts. It works very well for me.

I use Brightening Facial Wash from Revision Skin Care. It's the type of product that is sold only by certain retailers. My dermatologist introduced me to it and I LOVE it. It smells like mandarin oranges :-) I have very sensitive skin so I can't use anything from Target, Walmart, etc. Revision also has masks, toners, etc that are great as well!

In the morning I use a soap like soft soap or bath and body works soap It does not overly dry your skin. In the evenings I use a regular soap to take off eyeliner and mascara (I dont usually wear any other make-up) followed by St. Ives Apricot scrub with salicylic acid to cleanse and exfoliate. If my skin is really dirty (after yard work, etc.) I will follow up with a noxema pad to clear out pores. The only lotion I have found that I can use without beraking out is the Nutrogena healthy skin anti-wrinkle anti-blemish cream. It contains retinol and salicylic acid and it is not greasy. Most acne problems with pcos can not be solved by cleansers, creams, scrubs, etc. they are hormonal. Just do the best you can to keep your skin clean so as not to compound the problem. What has helped my acne was being put on Metformin. My face is clearer than it has been since I was about 18!

So glad I have found this forum! I was scheduled to start a couple of skin care treatments (chemical peels) last week but ended up cancelling since my hours have been cut at work. I saw the AcneFree Sensitive kit at Target and decided to give it a try because I have been experiencing the worst breakout I have ever had with this monsterous pimples at my temples. Well those cleared up but now my skin is beyond dry and chapped that I am at my wits end and ready to claw my face off. I have since quit using the AcneFree products and am trying to gently cleanse my face and have spent a good $30 on a couple of different mosturizers in the last two days trying to find something, ANYTHING to help soothe my face. I have been lathering on Aveeno Calming Mosturizer but a few hours later I am uncomfortable again. Does anyone have any tips?!!? Perhaps a mask for dry, chapped, peeling skin?? Its especially painful around my nose and mouth.
Thanks ladies!

I've never had good luck with the Neutrogena face washes, either--they all seem to make me break out even more. I've also tried everything under the sun, in every price range--ProActiv, AcneFree, DDF, Philosophy, Murad...you name it, I've probably tried it.

Lately, I've been using Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser in the evenings (after I take off my makeup with one of the Olay Daily Facial cloths). Biore claims it works faster than ProActiv, at least according to the sticker on the bottle.

In the morning, I use Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser, and a few times a week, I use the St. Ives medicated apricot scrub--I love that stuff!

Not only do I have the acne from PCOS, but also from rosacea. Or maybe it's really one or the other. Anywho, I used a product by Dove that I can't seem to find anymore. I'm not sure if they discontinued it, but it had the cucumber on it. Just recently I have switched to Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser with sacylic (sp?) acid. It seems to help. For spot treatment, I swear by Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick. it kinda smells mediciney, but it works...even on mosquito bites

For one month now I've been using La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel, it's the only thing that's really cleaned my skin and helped substantially reduce (not eliminate) all the small pimples on my cheeks.

I plan to alternate with Eucerin Dermopurifying Gel as I've found this is also fantastic. It leaves the skin clear and soft but doesn't help too much with oily skin (i.e. later in the day).

I've heard that it's good to alternate products as your "skin gets used to it". I think it could be true as sometimes a product works great, then a few months later, not so much.

Another one that I've found which is excellent is Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash, it's formulated for adult acne, I would use this all the time but it's expensive. It's probably the best for my skin though.

I've tried cleansers from Neutrogena, Clinique, L'oreal, Garnier (and probably tons of others LOL) but they did absolutely nothing and some of them seemed to just clog my skin more. The three I mentioned have been great for me, I have adult acne, clogged pores, loads of little pimples, not the cystic acne like some others may have.

Hope this helps.

I've used the BBs blemish stick, too, and I just picked up their new treatment--it's a little glass bottle with the liquid, and you dab it on with a cotton swab. The magazine ad says it clears acne within 24 hours, but I haven't found that to be true.

What does work really well for me--if you are looking for a treatment--is the Neutrogena 2-in-1 Fight and Fade Gel. I have no idea why--I've always had bad luck with the washes and gels, but this works. It usually helps reduce and even clear my blemishes after one bedtime application.

I use the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit face wash line. It smells great and keeps my skin clear, although I never had too many acne problems. I just can't use it every day because it makes my skin itchy and feel dry.
