Angry Facial Cysts

PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who gets these very large pus filled cysts on their face??
I have one now that is just beginning to heal after lots of gross stuff came out (still a bump there).......I used warm water and a bit of tea tree oil to get rid of it. Which seemed to work great, better than using nothing before and having that growth on my face for weeks on end.
I've had them pop up (ALWAYS) on my face since i was a kid. It seems like I will have 'em untill I die....that's all I need on top of the hair, mole, skin tags....wtf is next

I haven't been to a dermo yet ~ I heard those shots are pricey and you have to get the shot the first sign of a facial cyst...is that true? i couldn't do it this time, but i definitely will next time....i'm sick of having that on my face unable to hide it and being stuck in the house for days (especially during our short summers!!! )

Unhappy Worst things possible I think

I get them too KittyBlue. I had one two weeks ago, on the inside of my mouth. Yes, on my lip. Don't even ask about when it broke.

This week, I have one on the end of my nose. I look like Rudolph's mother. It hurts so bad, that it feels like someone punched me in the nose. My eyes are watering right now. Not to mention, I am at work, as a Receptionist. I feel like everyone is looking at my huge nose. I am afraid this one will break and leave a huge scar.

Does anyone know how to get rid of these ugly, painful things. I get them on every inch of my body at one time or another. I actually had to have outpatient surgery to have one removed from a very personal area. My doctor just tells me they are a way of life and once you get one, you will get them for life. I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS AS FACT.

Help anyone.

((HUGS)) I know exactly how you lovely ladies feel.

I get this cystic acne on my face as well. I noticed that if I put toothpaste on them they heal up faster. I dont know if this is good advice, but it seemed to work for me, so you might want to try that. I put toothpaste right on the acne and go to sleep...it dries up pretty fast!

I hope this helps. ((HUGS)) Luv you girls!

I don't get them but my husband does all over his face & trunk... it is very painful for him & sometimes we have had to go to the ER & have them drained. The drs also told him that he had to live with it... till I came in the picure. I went in with him & demanded to see a dermatoilgist ASAP. well it took 6 months on a waiting list but we saw him & he recomended accutain. My DH is MUCH improved & the scaring on his body has been slowly healing. Good luck & see a specialist!!

Unhappy I can' believe I am doing this.

I can't believe I am doing this. I feel like an a$$. I am sitting here, with my family around me, talking online, with toothpaste on my nose, for day 2.

Ok, how long does this normally take for these things to go away. I went to work looking like Rudolph today. Thinking about taking time off, this sucks.

Cool

I'm glad I'm not the only one who suffers with these horrible things

I tried the toothpaste as well and it didn't work for me ~ probably cuz i have no patients and just want it gone! I also tried pure honey (the kind you put on toast) didn't really work, was just a sticky mess......the only thing that really worked (THIS TIME! dunno about next time) is pure tea tree oil in a cup of hot/warm water, that seems to bring the pus to the surface....i dunno it worked for me, hope it helps you a bit. these things are AWFUL!!!!!

You girls are so precious and cute. I put the toothpaste on at night before I go to bed and I leave it on all night and wash it off in the morning...it really does seem to help. I know that everyone's skin is different, but I hope this helps you out as well. ::Hugs:: Good luck girls.

I love you girls.

P.S. Thankfully Salem is so wonderful...and does not mind me wearing a toothpaste mask to bed at night..LOL

Kitty *hugs*, Im sorry that you have these things, I wouldnt wish them on my worst enemy.. well, maybe

I have gotten quite a few doosies in my time, the worst one was on my chin area.. a little to the right of it. I had to go to the ER it was so bad, I had a fever, it was going to go south on me! They ended up cutting my face leaving me with a 1/4 inch scar to this day to drain the sucker. EW!

Now a days, I am on Sprio and havent had a single cyst in my face and it has cleared up considerably.. of course to reveal that i have a few good scars going on there, but oh well, what can you do? Im just glad they arent volcanos!!

Make sure you're using toothPASTE and not gel. Only the paste has that effect from what I've read and experienced. By the way, try taking some Motrin to relieve the inflammation. It really does work to relieve the pain and swelling. It won't heal it any faster, but it does make you look and feel better. Just make sure you take it with food. I've taken so much of it (for headaches) that I have a stomach ulcer. Yikes. Good luck, ladies.

I was just going to post you have to use the toothpaste and not the gel. It helps me bring it down. I don't get them that often anymore but when I do I call up my derm and go get a cortizone shot and its gone after a day. If I'm traveling then I do a hot compress then apply the toothpaste

I have two "soft" cysts on my face that formed this week. Also a "hard" one near my nose. Arg! They don't look too bad, but no one likes red bumps on their face. It's hard to avoid wanting to lance them and hope all the white/yellow gunk comes out so they don't return. I want to wait until they come to a head, because then I'm guarenteed to get more of the pus/goop out. But then I'd be afraid of them getting worse if I lanced them. Arg!

I'm hoping they come to a head soon. I remember using the Burt's Bees Blemish stick and it helping with my acne (I would think it would help with these guys), but the roller would pick up the dead skin on my face and you could see it float in the bottle. That can't be good.

I tried using that Mint Julep clay mask last night on them; not overnight, but it was on for about 30 minutes. It didn't really help too much.

It's been getting really warm here, which is making my skin go oily.
