Default Facial Hair Question...

I literally have a full-beard that I shave everyday, sometimes twice a day. I live with a BF, so really growing it out long enough to wax is not an option most of the time. There has been a few times where I have literally plucked the entire thing for a special occasion. It takes most of a day, but it can be done. However, my skin is so red in the areas, not just after I pluck or shave, but all the time. So even if the hair is gone, it's still really red. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make my skin not so red? I have a very special event coming up in September that I will be plucking everything off my face. I want to look as good as possible. Thanks!

Plucking, waxing, threading, using epilators etc. are all very traumatic to sensitive skin, especially if the hair is in any way coarse.

The trouble is that most of the alternatives are hard on the skin as well. Depilatories strong enough to destroy hair are almost bound to damage sensitive skin.

September is far too close to expect Vaniqa to have any marked effect, though it might be some help to you in slowing down the growth.

If your skin is sensitive, I suggest you get a men's-type Norelco electric razor as the least bad of the options available. At least they're reasonably quiet if you have to shave in a washroom.

I don't have nearly as much hair as you, however if you're shaving that often, my suggestion is for you to calculate the cost of razors and shaving cream that you're going to spend for the next 10-15 years and bite the bullet and hassle and give yourself some freedom-spend money on laser hair removal. A friend of mine had it done and it's great for her. It has cut down on her time of getting ready each day and has really had a positive impact on her social life. Best of luck.
