I have had facial hair ever since I was in high school. Starting out as one or two here and there and now I am 30 and I shave daily.![]()
But to answer your question I have been pregnant 3 times. The first with no help from meds at all! The last 2 were on glucophage. The first 2 I had m/c's with (presumed to be from low progesterone) and the third I took progesterone but I lost due to incompetant cervix (they think) which had nothing to do with PCOS.
I hope this helps some. I know what its like needing to hear positive stories from others. I am getting ready to TTC soon (after I have 3 AFs) I had just lost my son a couple weeks ago. I am worried a lot. Like what if I dont get pregnant or what if i M/C again or god forbid I lose another baby. But I am having faith and I am still going to do it because so many people before have gone through the same thing and became parents in the end!

that's such a beautiful quote. that's really what all PCOS women have to think (of course if they are TTC) I am so thankful you are looking on the positive!!!too much negativity in this world!!!
So sorry to hear about your losses. You have such a positive attitude! Best wishes to you on your next pregnancy.
I have gotten pregnant twice and have facial hair. I used clomid both times. I'm sure today, with all the current imfo. out there, I'd have been put on glucophage and clomid. One side note was that my hair was being fairly well controlled but with each pregnancy it was horrible but I just removed it knowing I was getting what I wanted, my babies. After my pregnancies I took meds to help and slowly things improved each time. Don't freak out when you get pregnant. Your symptoms could go crazy, hair and acne, but later you can deal with that. Best wishes and baby dust to you. Keep up the good work. IT sounds like you ladies are on top of things and are taking control of your fertility. A must for us to get pregnant. We know how bad we want it!!!

My story is quite like Ceej's. I've had facial hair since high school. I've been pregnant once--conceived naturally!!! Unfortunately I lost my baby at 19 weeks due to incompetent cervix (the doctos thought)--not PCOS related.
I will try again after 3 AFs, and that will be this fall. We all need positive stories from time to time. Keep up our faith and hope!![]()
I have read a lot about this lately since it happened to me and here is what I understand about it.
Incompetant cervix is a cervix that is too weak to stay closed during a pregnancy. It can cause preterm birth and depending on how far along the pregnancy is it can cause loss of the baby too.
I was only 22 weeks and generally infants this premature do not survive, unfortunatly.![]()
I have posted my story on the miscarriage board if you are interested in reading it here is a link -http://www.soulcysters.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48587
There is hope though, they have procedure called cerclage. There are different types but they all basically do the same thing by stitching the uterus shut to prevent the cervix from opening too soon, thus hopefully keeping the baby in long enough to survive.
If anyone else has more information or a success story please post. Encouragement is always welcome!!
