One weekend a month I plan on staying home so that I can let my facial hair (mostly my chin, upper lip, and sideburns) grow so that on Sunday afternoon I can spend a couple of hours plucking it. It keeps the 5 O'clock shadow to a minimum.
So, why does it never fail that someone calls and wants to do something fun and I have to decide on spending time doing something fun or just letting my hair grow...
Oh well, there's always next weekend...

I've accepted fate and know I will never carry a child of my own.
It's really not that bad. I've been doing it since I was about 14, so I've got it down to a science.
I take a warm bath or a shower just prior and it helps to open the pores and makes it less painful and makes the irritation minimal.

Do you shave the rest of the month? I do...and I soo hate it.
I don't know why but I have this total mental block about electrolysis, but I totally know what you mean about the 5 0'clock shadow. so embarresing. Sometimes I swear I can't make eye contact with people because I'm so afriad they are thinking...."is that mustache??" I've had some very insensitive people make pretty mean comments about it....

Lonnie ~
I shave everyday. I pluck to keep it not as noticeable. I hate not being able to go out in without make up or with my hair up because I'm afraid someone will notice. My upper lip isn't that bad, but under my chin is very, very dark. I looked into electrolysis, but my hair is so dark and I have so much of it, I would have gone broke and it most likely would have come back.
I wish someone would invent a dip, like the one from Roger Rabbit, that hairy girls like us could use. We could cover the hair we want to keep up and then go into the dip and it would eat away the hair we don't want. I would pay big bucks for that!!

It sure is good to know I'm not the only one in the world =) It's pretty amazing how much time you can spend being embarresed about something as important as your face...PCOS is such a bummer.
Mahjab -- Women with very fair skin, and very fair hair like me are not good candidates for lazer treatments. I had a consult with a lazer place and they said they would not advise treatment and that electrolisis was my best option. However, it's expensive and I've heard pretty painful.

BCPs have helped me in the past. My doc doesn't think its enough to treat, mostly because I keep up with it as best I can.

I hate those quick shaves. You always end up with razor burn and that's always so attractive (and painful)!

I know it sounds gross, but I got it at my local farmers market and I love it! It's great for so many things - burns, bruises, acne, dry skin, you name it, emu oil fixes it!
It's kinda expensive. Around $20 for 8-10 oz, but two drops will cover both hands.

Oh, I didn't think of that. I do have a PCOS friend who had electrolosys done and it just solved her problem totally. The pain may be well worth the permanent results.
I too have tried the plucking option, find it brings tears to my eyes though and there's only so much of it I can take. lol
I'm also reluctant to shave my face, I have heard a rumor that the more you shave.. the thicker and darker the hair grows back. How accurate is that, does anyone know?
