Hi, I'm 23, and seem to have more hair on my face than my bf!I have done laser, two different places, two different types of lasers one was for over a year, once a month. It seemed to work for a while but now it seems to have become worse than before! I shave it now because it bothers me so much, but I seem to find that even after a few hours i have a prickley chin/neck! Shaving also leaves me all red and probably noicable to others that I do do something, or have soemthing going on in that area. Is there anything else that can be done? Are there go creams like nair for the face that would be better to use?any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
I'm no expert, but from what I've been reading on this site you may want to look into some hormonal control of the hair growth as well.
Re: hair removal creams--Some people here seem to like magic cream. I use Sally Hansen's extra-strength hair remover (for the body) on my face, but it may not be strong enough.

Probably not quite so rare as you might imagine!

Unless you get your hormones into the normal female range and keep them there that's quite likely to be the result.

How are you shaving? Wet razor? "Women's"or "men's"? What make and model? Using shaving soap, shaving gel or ordinary soap? Or are you using an electric razor? Make and model? Women's or men's- type.

If you've got as much hair on your face as your bf, then forget about depilatories or waxing, plucking, threading, mechanical epilation (all of them OK in the right circumstances, but not good for growth comparable to that of males. Laser and electrolysis are OK if your hormones really are steady in the normal female range.
I wax my face in the beginning I had to go every two weeks but now I go once a month and the lady who waxes my face says the hair is so much less than when we first started . Now I am on met so I have heard that met helps with the hair also but waxing works for me and it keeps my skin soft and the hair doesnt start showing for a while
good luck hope this helps.

i also use sally hansen's cream, my hair on my upper lip was pretty thick because i felt too humiliated to see anyone about it, i finally had enough one day when some loser with no manners pointed it out to me infront of like 3 other people, i went to a local salon and they waxed it away and the lady told me about the cream, works wonders for me BUT i have to use it like every other day, and sometimes still pluck a few hairs because it doesnt always get every last one, also be careful because if you leave it on too long it can burn your skin and leave a mark that looks almost like rugburn which is just about as embarassing as the hair itself. anyway once i got used to it everything worked great and i always check in my mirror in natural daylight (most revealing light) and cant tell anything at all so its worth a try. shaving makes hair look thicker because the ends of the hairs are more blunt when they grow back, i'd stop shaving immediately.
Thank goodness others have this issue. I thought I had developed werewolf disease or something. I shave every morning, but its always back by late afternoon!
I strongly believe in magic cream. Its made for black men but its been a day and half and i still barely have stubble. got it at wal mart. best $3 ive ever spent. Ever. lol
