How does it minimize the appearance of facial hair? What do you mean?

Default Well...

For me i know it is working cuz i haven't seen any long hair and haven't had to shave my face in over 3 wks which is like a lifesaver, i was shaving almost every day. The bottle says that it improves skin tone and texture with natural soy, skin silkening soy extract and skin conditioners they tested and shows that with these ingredients within 2 wks your hair look less noticeable. I have really seen a difference in my glow and in my facial hair. Let me know if it works for any of you guys

Biore has a facial moisturizer, too, that is supposed to minimize the hair growth. I have been using it for a while and it works pretty well. My facial hair was pretty bad and now I find that it is at least tolerable. I have been thinking about asking for a prescription of Vaniqa, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Has anyone else tried it?

I tried vaniqua and, in my opinion, it is worthless. It costs about $50 which was not covered by my insurance. I went through two tubes to give it a chance, but it did nothing but make my skin breakout in blackheads....yea, like I need that too!!

I also tried the biore....I didn't think it did anything for me.

I have been using the Aveeno cream for 5 days now and I can see a difference....don't need to pick at my skin everyday. I would recommend it at this point.

Has anyone tried to new Aveeno shaving cream that is suppose to minimize the need to shave often?

Thanks, cryinginPA. Maybe I will try the Aveeno moisturizer before I move onto anything more expensive.

just wanted to add...i have been using it for 5 weeks and it's wonderful...if you are like me and need to shave twice a day..it's a great product!!!!!!!!!! it helps INCREDIBLY with stubble. after i shave, i also clean with witch hazel, it helps soothe the shaven area. i am so glad to hear others who are trying this product. i always liked aveeno stuff, though it is kinda pricy verses the usual family dollar stuff i buy!

Thumbs up Another Testimonial

I've been using the Aveeno lotion for a week and a half and I really think it is helping. I get up for work at 530am so by 3pm I have noticable stubble. Since I've been using it, the hair seems to be slower in growing. I still have to shave every morning but it is less noticable in the evening. I use it twice a day. I would highly reccommend it! It's a bit costly but worth it. I have also tried the Biore and didn't find that to work as well as Aveeno is working for me.

Wink

Aveeno is turning out to be a godsend - and I have only been using for a week. I typically need to spend a half hour in the morning plucking the hair from chin and neck - but I have been able to do it every other day now. Hopefully, it will get even better as I continue to use it. The package says it takes up to two weeks to become effective.

I used Vaniqua briefly, but it wasn't worth the 50 bucks. It made my skin dry and blotchy and I don't think it it helped with the excessive hair.

This is my first posting after several weeks of reading the posts. It is such a relief to know that I'm not alone in this battle!!

Aveeno also has a "hair minimizing" lotion for the body. Someone in another posting said she compared the ingredients on both bottles and they seem to be the same. The body lotion is almost half the price!!!!!!! I personally haven't tried the body lotion yet....yet....just focusing on the face right now.

I have been using the Aveeno the past few days, too, and I do like it. However, I was wondering about all the soy in it. Does anyone know if the soy is absorbed into the body like in food products? I am trying to reduce my soy intake, after all the bad stuff I've read about it's estrogen effects and effects on the thyroid.

Just wanted to reply about the Vaniqua. I have used about 4 tubes of this. Luckily, my insurance co pays for it so it was $25.00 a tube. It did slow the hair growth down and took my daily plucking time from 30-45 minutes to 15-20. However, I have quit using it for the last 4 days (in preparation for laser hair removal) and I don't think the effects last as long as they say. It is supposed to take 6-8 weeks for the hair growth to return to normal. Well, I am back to being able to shave twice a day again!
