Default facial shaving, help!

I think i have tried every possible razor they have at the drug store by my house. I started using the mach 3 because i found it gave a close shave but now, I don't feel it shaves well enough. Did they change the blades or something? I have been using the aveeno positively smoothe shaving gel too cause it leaves my face smoothe for longer... but i don;t know what's wrong.. maybe i'm getting paranoid.

can anyone suggest the best razor for facial shaving?

I use the Venus (basically the gals version of the Mach3) and it works well. I use a shaving gel, and I try to take the time to leave a warm facecloth on to soften the hair.

I also use the Aveeno Positively Smooth lotion, but not right after shaving. It tends to burn. I use pure emu oil, which is soothing, anti-inflamitory and a great moisturizer.

Default Shaving

I also use the Venus and it seems to work best.
I use it in the shower and it does very well and I then put Oil of Olay lotion on my face afterwards before make-up and my skin stays soft.....

I like Venus too, it gives me the best combination of a close shave and few cuts. I found when I used the regular three-bladed ones without the extra cushiony bits I was cutting myself a LOT. The other thing is that I find it works best when the hair is a bit longer, so I try to make sure I do it at the same time every day, so that I'm not stuck with four or five hours less growth to shave, because then it won't work as well.
