Default Fainted before a GTT Test

Hi girls - wondering if it means something that I fainted before my glucose tolderance test....does that mean anything about insulin resistance?

I truly don't think I passed out just from 'needle-fear' - I've taken probably 4 fasting blood panels in the last 6 months and been fine.

Anyone have a guess what that was about? Thanks!!

Well, since you were fasting, it could just as easily have been low blood sugar.

Does that mean I'm IR?

I'll get the gray before my eyes and fainty feeling if I go without eating also and will notice my BS is in the 70s (anything under 80 is low) and I'm not IR. but my sugars have always dipped dangerly low if I go without eating. You should probably make sure you get your test done, but I can see how that would happen.

Oh I definitely got it done after I woke up - It's a 40 minute drive to the doctor and I was determined to get it over with!

I'm really anxious to see what it says, if I'm IR or not.....although I honestly don't understand what that would mean for me. I'm already started on the Metformin...

All this is so confusing! :/
