Smile A faith builder

I'm new to this particular board. I've been on the TTC and the pregnancy boards but not much to this one. I hope ya'll don' t mind me posting this, but for some reason, I feel like I have to share some of my story.

I'm 32. I've been a Christian on and off for 24 yrs. I rebel and walk away, and God has always welcomed me back with open arms. During one particularly tough rebellion of mine, I got pregnant and had a fabulous pregnancy, no complications. I had a beautiful baby boy after 27 hours of labor and a emergency c-section. He was resecitated and is fine. We call him our angel boy. He's almost 7 years old now. His name is Brandon. He's asthmatic, severe adhd with several related problems, and a hemophiliac. That is a clotting disorder. He doesn't stop bleeding normally. He bleeds for extended periods of times, and when his blood does clot, the clot falls off easily. Even with stitches, he'll continue bleeding at times, and even from the stitches where they go through the skin. God has protected him, and looked after him his whole life. He had surgery in November, and not only did he NOT have problems clotting and maintaining the clot, he didn't bleed the normal amount. But then, being a single mom, it's hard to see God's work in my own life, because I despirately want a father for my son (his biological father hasn't ever met him) and a husband. I know it'll happen in God's time, but it hasn't and in my mind it should have.

Well May 16, driving down the road to physical therapy for 2 bad discs in my back, one in the chest region that is pressing on my cord, and one in the lumbar region that is basically not there, I was singing along with the cd in the car. I remember the last line of the song before things went crazy.... "Show me you are near" Well boy did HE take that to heart.... I rounded a corner, and there stood a deer in the road, huge deer! I have a little horizon. I bore to the right slightly to not get the whole deer in my lap, and hit the rear leg of it. The right front tire of my car went off the shoulder of the road, and my car went spinning, and rolling. The EMT and sheriff figure I rolled about three times, coming to rest on the drivers side in the ditch. A voice, I'm calling God's, told me to turn the car off, and get out. And I was given the strength to do such. The witness had a cellular phone and called 911 and my mom. The ambulance got there, and wanted to rush to the hospital, and when I said I had a little boy that was going to freak out, they offered to wait for him to get there. My mom brought him down, and he saw I was "Ok" and then he went to check out the car with grandma, kissed me good bye and they packaged me up on the back boards and head blocks. My blood pressure was 112/32. My oxygen levels were 92% (dangerous). I got to the hospital, they examined my back, they were pretty sure I'd not broken anything there. But they then checked my neck, and by symptoms and pain, were sure enough that I'd broken my neck that they told me such. Then they gave me some steriods and some valium and sent me off for xrays. Well, they were so sure there was major something wrong, that when the xrays looked ok, they called in a specialist. He also cleared the films. I'm not perfect, but I'll tell ya, I'm thanking God I can walk. I still have pain, and it's 3 weeks later, but it's a constant reminder that God was near when I needed him, and He still is!

I learned two things... watch out what you pray for.... and HE is always near, He's NEVER late! We might think so, but He has His Perfect timing.

I hope this helps someone... encourages someone to know that God cares. I have a LONG road ahead of me, before I'm physically normal, but I know I won't be alone going through this. I know going to surgery will be scary, but I know He'll be there, and my son will be there with me in heart. I won't have family there, I won't have anyone I know there, except to drop me off, and come get me about a week later, but I know God will be there! And I know he'll be in the OR guiding the surgeons hands. I'm not saying it's gonna be easy, or that I won't miss my family and cry often, but God will be there, looking after me, loving me, and taking care of me. Holding me in His strong never failing arms.

God bless you all
teri

Default maybe this will help your "faith"

Out of the mouth of
babes..............................
JESUS & THE MUD PUDDLE
Howard County Sheriff Jerry Marr got a disturbing call
one Saturday
afternoon a few months ago. His 6-year-old grandson
Mikey had been hit
by a car while fishing in Greentown with his dad. The
father and son were
near a bridge by the Kokomo Reservoir when a woman
lost control of her car, slid off the bridge and hit
Mikey at a rate of about 50 mph.
Sheriff Marr had seen the results of accidents like
this and feared the
worst. When he got to Saint Joseph Hospital, he rushed
through the
emergency room to find Mikey conscious and in fairly
good spirits.
Mikey, what happened?" Sheriff Marr asked.
"Well Papaw, I was fishin' with Dad, and some lady
runned me over, flew
into a mud puddle, and broke my fishin' pole and I
didn't get to catch
no fish!"
As it turned out, the impact propelled Mikey about 500
feet, over a few
trees and an embankment and in the middle of a mud
puddle. His only
injuries were to his right femur bone which had broken
in two places.
Mikey had surgery to place pins in his leg. Otherwise
the boy is fine.
Since all the boy could talk about was that his
fishing pole was broken,
the Sheriff went out to Wal-mart and bought him a new
one while he was
in surgery so he could have it when he came out.
The next day the Sheriff sat with Mikey to keep him
company in the
hospital. Mikey was enjoying his new fishing pole and
talked about when
he could go fishing again as he cast into the trash
can. When they were
alone, Mikey, just a matter-of-fact, said, "Papaw, did
you know Jesus is
real?"
Well," the Sheriff replied, a little startled. "Yes,
Jesus is real to all who believe in him and love him
in their hearts." No," said Mikey. "I mean Jesus is
REALLY real." What do you mean?" asked the Sheriff. "I
know he's real 'cause I saw him." said Mikey, still
casting into the trash can. You did?" said the
Sheriff.
"Yep," said Mikey. "When that lady runned me over and
broke my fishing
pole, Jesus caught me in his arms and laid me down in
the mud puddle."
GIVES YOU GLORY BUMPS DOESN'T IT ? !
GOD WILL DO THE REST
I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today
To guide you and protect you
As you go along your way
His love is always with you
His promises are true
And when we give Him all our cares
You know He will see us through
So when the road you're traveling on
Seems difficult at best
Just remember I'm here praying
And GOD WILL DO THE REST.

Hi Teri! We emailed a few times, but I have since moved to Virginia from the Oneonta area. I wish I was still in the area and I would come to visit you in the hospital. I hope your recovery is fast. I will be praying fr God to guide the hands of the doctors and I know you will be just fine!

Teri,

Your so right, the Lord is always there. He never leaves you, we sometimes turn our backs on him and leave him, but he's always there for us with open arms.

Just keep that faith that you have right now and keep believing.....I hope that you get feeling better really soon and that things get better for you as each day goes by. Sounds like you had a ride. Bless your heart.

Take it easy. Your in my prayers.
