Default False Positive??? HELP!!!!!!!

Is this true?

Elevated Levels of LH - the ovulation inducing hormone
LH is chemically similar to hCG1, and especially in women with PCOS, elevated levels of LH can cause a false positive.

I got a positive HPT yesterday, but I tested 3 more times and got 3 negatives after the positive.

I do BBT charting, and I was only on CD 17 yesterday and my chart hasn't indicated ovulation yet. So is this statement true?? HELP

I also had this happen before when I was ovulating, but not pregnant. My doctor said that PCOSers have wacky hormones sometimes, and it's possible my hormone surge of LH also made my HcG surge. Even though most women don't produce a measurable amount unless pregnant, I believe it is still produced in teeeeeeeny amounts all the time. Sorry about your experience. Were these internet test strips or another kind?

It was Answer Early. Theres an article on http://peeonstick.com about Answer and First Response giving false positives. But a false positives only lasts a few mins or up to 4 hrs. My positive hpt has been there almost 48 hrs.

The first hpt I took was Answer but in a different box I took it at 6pm- I had it left over from last cycle.
Then I took a Answer from a different box, that I bought after I got a positive- and it was negative~ I took it at 6:40pm.

Then the next morning with FMU I tested with Answer again from that same box that I got the 1st negative, and negative.

Later that day I tested with First Response- negative.

What I don't understand is, if its a false positive, why is the positive still on the hpt?

And if its a false positive my ovulation must of caused it, but why didn't it cause it on the 2nd hpt I tested with like 40 mins later?
