Red face False Positive pregnancy test

Hi ladies,
So I got my first BFP on Tuesday night!! Very excited. Well then I went to the doc today and the pregnancy test (urine) was negative. I was very disappointed to say the least. I have been having pregnancy symptoms such as nausea, and tender breasts. Doc says he will call tomorrow with blood test results. He says that the office could have gotten a bad batch of tests.... Anyway, I came home took another brand of pregnancy test and got anothe BFP! Has this type of thing ever happened to anyone? I am so confused!!

Your Dr. should have gave you another test from a different batch. If you got two BFP at home I would say you are preggo. Maybe the blood tests will prove it! Good luck. Let us know!

You poor thing, how traumatic. I hope the blood test shows a BFP. I would think you are pregnant if you had 2 positive tests. I didn't think you could get false positive preg tests.

When I got my BFP and then went later that morning to the doctor the urine test was negative, but the blood test was positive (only 22, which is probably why it didn't show up on the urine test). I hope that happens to you. good luck!

the urine tests at the doctors offices are usually no better than the home tests. I think your BFP is probably real.

Most doc's offices use urine tests that don't pick up until 50, and are less sensitive than the early result tests we can get at the store. Many women get BFPs on the home tests before the doc's urine test, however the blood work should show up pregnant if you are. GOOD LUCK!

Hey Ladies,
Update on the pregnancy. Doc called me on Friday afternoon to say that I was in fact pregnant!! My HCG was 226 so still very early. he wants me to come back in on Monday to test blood again to be sure that that number is rapidly increasing. He apologized profusely for the negative pregnancy test. He believes my urine was too diluted... Either way it was a very rought 24 hrs waiting for me and DH. Thanks for all your posts. I will keep you updated. Please keep us in your prayers! Still taking my Met 1500 mg daily for the whole pregnancy per my doc.

Congrats! Great news for you! It's a shame that you had to worry for so long, but it was nice that he apologized. I hope the next results show that your baby is doing well!
