I hope this is OK that I am posting this here. I am a caseworker at this agency and posted this at a non-PCOS board and figured why not my cysters too?

Adoption STAR - a non-profit NYS Authorized Child Placing Adoption agency - is seeking HOME STUDY READY families for African American newborns in an OPEN ADOPTION.

We are currently working with 9 pregnant birth mothers (including two whom are pregnant with twins) and are in need of home study ready families interested in adopting African American newborn(s). Unlike most agencies, there are no registration fees. You do not pay anything until time of placement. All of our placement fees are on a sliding scale based on gross income. If you live out of state, you will need to pay for your travel to New York. Finalization usually occurs at about 3 months.

***NOTE: We cannot accept non-agency or private home studies.*** Agency and DSS home studies will be considered.

DH and I are not ready right now. We just adopted our five year old AA foster son last month. I would like to adopt an AA female in 18 mo. to 2 years.

My husband and I are ready to adopt and african american newborn, but we live in VA. What would we need to do and also are there any classes that we would have to attend?

At our agency, if you are out-of-area (Buffalo, NY) and approved to adopt (from a state authorized agency or DSS) with a recent adoption home study (a year old and updated after your last adoption) and are interested in adopting an African American newborn all you would need to do is send us a copy of your approved home study, dear birth mother letter, and family profile. tell me more please, i will call tomorrow, I havent taken a home study course do i have to do this first, if i havent does that mess with my chances of adoption
