I'm just wondering do any of you know of any famous women/celebrities who also suffer from PCOS? Certainly in Ireland it's not well publicised but I thought that maybe some of you might know of women in the public eye are open about having PCOS - just a thought, it might be interesting to hear. Any of the Irish/British cysters may have heard that two female pop stars, Louise Nurding and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) reportedly suffer from PCOS, but I don't know if there's any truth in it. Anyway, just thought I would open the discussion!!
I don't know of any here but I'd be interested to know. I'd like to have Posh's doctor. She's got three kids and looks amazing. Well.... maybe that's the plastic sugeon
On the British front there is also Zoe Ball, Kym Marsh, Jools Oliver (Jamie O's Mrs) and Jane Dansan (Leanne Battersby/Coronation St) who are all beautiful. There were some more but I've forgotten, woops!

Louise Nurding definately has endometriosis, it took her and Jamie two years of trying before she went for tests and discovered this...
I guess all these famous mums with the condition leave hope for us yet, although they do have rather more money than we do to help things along a bit! IVF is what, £2000 a pop?
Emma Thompson...Thank you JanelleMarie. I've been racking my brain for 2 days thinking of her name. I saw her face, but her name was on the tip of my tongue...

Nolly, I think there have been a few threads on the UK/Eire board, on here.
Some of the skinnier PCOS-ers who are in the media could possibly have eating disorders, given the pressure of their jobs, being in the public eye, and so on, and all the unrealistic expectations people have of them. And the way the music and movie industries seem to push certain stereotypes of what women 'should' look like.... Also, some women with PCOS are just skinny to start off with!
If around 10% of the female population could have PCOS, I suspect that at least 10% of celebs have (possibly more, as we can be very er... 'driven' women!) Maybe only a handful have diagnoses or are even aware of the possibility.
Here in the UK, Jane Danson seems to have been very active in getting the PCOS story out there, when she does interviews, and I think we have some links to some of those in the UK forum?
Lots of love to our Irish cysters, Polly x
