Does this go for any type of test where something's injected? Or only if it's uterus related? What about regular x-rays/MRI's where nothings injected?

| My Gp has me come in every 6 months and get a new requisition for bloodwork. My last set was in December of 2006 and I'll go again in May or June of this year to make sure everything is where it should be .
I love how thorogh he is and I know that things will never ever get as bad as they were pre-diagnosis..we'll catch it so much faster if anything funky happens.
Hope it answers your question.

Points: 120.05 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 120.05 | Thank you. I have a feeling that my doctor is going to put me on Metformin this coming Thursday. We discussed it 6 months ago. I had lost 25 pounds through WW and thought I could do an additional, to no avail. I didn't gain any, but didn't lose, so I know that this time he is going to insist.
This thread makes me feel a whole lot better. Thank you for taking the time to research and then type all of that. I am new here, I have IR, but not PCOS....I had a partial hysterectomy years ago and have gone through (or am still in...do you ever come out?)
menopause, so I don't know.
But anyway, thanks.

My Dr just prescrived Met and I was scared to take it but after reading this I feel much better. But I have one question. Is it true that while on Met you can start to lose more hair? I really hope not because I am already losing alot!!

My Mood: Points: 203.47 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 203.47 | Hello. I am a newbie. Just diagnosed with IR in the summer of last year. I probably have had it longer but guess with going to an Ob/Gyn this time they found it more with the full blood work I had.
But I am on Metformin I take 850 mg 2 times a day. I do have times when I have diarrhea. I know when I started back in June I had nausea and such. Then i was on the lower dose then they upped it.
But am glad found this board so can keep up and more things. At my age right now too want to do things that can help me somewhat.
So guess will see how things go for me over time and more. |

My Mood: Points: 2,387.81 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,387.81 | I know there are many grateful women writing in to thank you, BUT REALLY..................THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This basically was "my missing key" to so many problems, I thought I was handling my PCOS the best I could while I'm across the country, but reading this shows me exactly what i've been missing- My dr. tried to put me on this before I left home, and I got nauseated and within days I was off it. I thought through birth control, diet and exercise (since I already got my hormone levels back normal) would be enough.....well it wasnt....AT ALL!! and its been an Uphill battle ever since. Reading all this info---from the help of some women refering it to me, HAS TOTALLY OPENED MY EYES to what I've needed all along. Thank you sooo much for providing that info that I've been trying to find all over the web with just finding repeat info...
I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart, and look forward to taking care of myself 100% now and Feeling better about myself!!! Thanks again!!! |
