thank you- do you know if it helps with other pcos symptoms Thanks so much for all the info. I have PCOS and am suffering from severe and rapid scalp hair loss, severe acne (with scarring) and seborrheic dermatitis. I just started Metformin and am taking 1000 mg. per day. Does the Met help with these other symptoms, as well?

HSG X-ray!!! I am normally on Metformin, but I had to stop taking it because I am getting the HSG tomorrow. ( x-ray to see if the fallopian tubes are open). Apparently that medicine mixed with the dye causes kidney failure, so that is why I had to stop taking it.
In the meantime, I got a book called The Natural Diet Soultion for PCOS and Infertility. Now, I tried every diet in the book and gained weight from them!!! I tried this and it's working- The secret is eat organic foods. In this book women just like you and me have had PCOS. Metformin didn't work for some of them, but after being on this diet for 3 months, women started to get their period normally. After 6 months, they ovulated and got pregnant. I am not saying this is a miracle diet, but so far I have lost weight and feel I have more energy..... Just thought I'd share.
I'll post tomorrow to let you all know the results of the x-ray. If the tubes are open we will wait for menses next month and then start injections ( FSH). If they are blocked, they will try to unblock them, so lets all pray they are open!!!
