This thread is great. All the information on met is great since I just started taking it. It sounds as though some women do not stay on it for life, which I did not know. My question is- have any of you successfully gotten off met? If so, how did you do it?

Default How long for Metformin to work?

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Diagnosed PCOS in July 2008. Was on Met 1000mg for one month, now up to 1700mg. I started the Met while on AF. This was 61 days ago. Just wondering how long it took for others AF to return or to start ovulating? My husband is deployed with the military and coming home in March. I am really trying to get this "situation" regulated before he gets home so we can start TTC! Any ideas? Any other herbs or supplements out there that helped with ovulation?

Thanks,
Karen

P.S. No bad side effects with the Met. Lost 10 lbs so far, got about 30 more to go to get to goal weight!

awwww ... it feels so great hearing all the positive feedback about Met. Though my gynae isnt exactly positive about the result Met could bring me but I told her i want to give it a try contrary to the whatever jab she is recommending me (and one week's jab is USD730.. ) .. I hope i could lose a few pounds too!! Reductil didnt work on me and I dislike duromin/panbesy/mediaxal ..

I've made an appt to see her next week !!! yippie! finally set my heart to do this. at 34 i really cant wait .. my biological clock is ticking away .. *sob sob*
