Question Fasting for first RE appointment?

I have my first RE appointment tomorrow and was wondering if I need to fast for bloodwork? They didn't say anything when i made the appointment, but I'm assuming they'll take some blood and I thought for some of the tests they run you have to have fasted. Anyone know about this? My appointment is at 9:00am, so it's not a big deal to fast, I'd just rather have something before then since I won't get lunch until noon (I'm a teacher).

Anyone have advice?

TIA

I recently did bloodwork with my RE and he had me fast starting @ midnight until the time of the appt. The doctor's office took 17 vials of blood from me, checking out hormone levels etc. The fasting was primarily for the blood glucose test.

My RE didn't require me to fast for the first visit.

Thanks for the replies. Miller1975- wow! 17 vials of blood!! That seems crazy.

I'm leaning toward not fasting because I think they should/would have said something about it when I made the appointment. I'm kind of hoping they won't have to draw any blood- my gyno thought they might use the b/w from when i saw her last. I hope so, that would save some money!

thanks again for replying, i appreciate it!

You would only have to fast for glucose/insulin test....I probably wouldn't unless they said something.
