Hi all, I had a fasting glucose test yesterday where the take a blood sample send it to the lab to check your sugar level (5.1), then make you drink a sugary orange juice. I know my fasting level was normal, and I was fine untill 3 hours after drinking the sugar soultion. I became disoriented, people were talking to me and I could'nt concentrate on what they were saying, I was shaky and sweating, dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out. Anyone know if this is a common reaction? thanks
yeah.... it is commin. I had to get 3 3-hour fasting glucose tests. I was hungry an dteh super sugar didn't h elp. My DH had to stay with me and they wouldn' tlet me leave the hospital until I ate somehitng b/c I was a liability. It is common, yes. GL on the results!

Enjoy him while you can cause it goes by really fast. My daughter is 12 going on 30. She's in the know it all stage right now, but a great kid just the same. Seems like yesterday I was throwing her first birthday party. Have fun and keep lots of paper towels on hand..lol
Well at least now I know it was a normal response from the test. I wasn't told any of those things could happen. It was a bit scary. I'm not new to pcos, but I am new to diabetes. Thanks to everyone for responding
