Question fasting glucose

Hi all, I had a fasting glucose test yesterday where the take a blood sample send it to the lab to check your sugar level (5.1), then make you drink a sugary orange juice. I know my fasting level was normal, and I was fine untill 3 hours after drinking the sugar soultion. I became disoriented, people were talking to me and I could'nt concentrate on what they were saying, I was shaky and sweating, dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out. Anyone know if this is a common reaction? thanks

Sylvia

Enjoy him while you can cause it goes by really fast. My daughter is 12 going on 30. She's in the know it all stage right now, but a great kid just the same. Seems like yesterday I was throwing her first birthday party. Have fun and keep lots of paper towels on hand..lol

Me too, I felt drunk--but my results were 'normal'. Then after the drunk feeling, I slept for forever.

I felt the same way after my test. I had to skip class and go home and have a nap to sleep it off.

Well at least now I know it was a normal response from the test. I wasn't told any of those things could happen. It was a bit scary. I'm not new to pcos, but I am new to diabetes. Thanks to everyone for responding
