Default Fasting Insulin is 22...but not rx'd Met?!

I got my lab results back today when I went to see a new Endo for the first time. He said my insulin was high (22uIU/nL) but said he wanted to order more blood work before we discussed the results (he ordered testosterone, DHEA and a couple more tests along those lines) and any diagnosis was made.

I know that the lab says 17 is the cut off, but I'm wondering if I'm at 22 why he didn't just prescribe me Met in the mean time until the second set of results are in. I go back to see him in 5 days. I'm just curious, should I be worried right now?

That is odd that he didn't put you on Met...but I have had several doctor so double test before they prescribe anything...The test shouldn't take that much longer to get but I think it maybe worth a phone call to the office...he maybe thinking that their is another med he would like to try...My doctor said there are a couple others that are better tolerated but Met helps the testosterone levels go down more than the others. So that maybe part of the wait. Just a thought. God Bless!
