Default Fasting insulin levels?

For those who have had this lab done, what were your levels?

I just got off the phone with my NP and she said mine was 14 uIU/ml. Our lab range is 6-27 uIU/ml so I'm not sure yet if she will treat or even diagnose me, though I've seen several sources that said a fasting insulin over 10 is high enough to diagnose IR, with other symptoms present.
