I just got the results of my CT Scan back. It showed fat deposits. I'm going for a fasting bloodtest on Fri. I know my dad had the same thing several months ago and they did a biopsy on his; everything came back fine.
Is this anything for me to worry about?
I'm on Synthroid and Gloucophage XR. I'm wondering if either one of those could be causing it.

I don't know if this pertains to you or not but, I used to work with a girl that had to have surgery on her liver because she had extensive fatty tumors. She was on bcp's for a long time and was told by her gi doctor that they were most likely the cause. Now whether that was actually true or not I don't know. I can't say what the ultimate cause ended up being but...maybe it's someting you could ask about if you are someone who has taken bcp's. Even for a short period of time I would still ask.

I have fatty deposits around my liver... its hereditary. My Gastro diagnosed me with NonAlchoholic Fatty Liver Disease. My ALTs will not go back down so I will have to have a liver biopsy next time I see him. Its not an uncommon thing mostly its hereditary. Fluffy people and skinny people can have it alike. It causes your liver not to process enzymes correctly. They do a biopsy to see how much damage has been done if any, or to make sure there is not another problem like... Hepatitis or cancer. I would not be alarmed... it seems to be another PCOS tag along.

Bobbysmommy - I have been on BCP before about 5 years ago. I will ask though when I see the dr.
Happygolucky - Thanks for the info!!! I'm a fluffy cyster I was reading on the web that it can cause you to not lose weight. I know I went on a Soy diet back in Jan and didn't lose a pound. I was so upset!!! I was reading that when you have that you need to stay away from a lot of different foods. Whoo!!! Ice cream is my weakness!!!

I have it too. I just had a liver biopsy done, before I could get cleared to move forward w/ IVF. It's just fatty liver. Diet and exercise will help tremendously!

Fat Deposits on Liver 
I was reading on the web that it can cause you to not lose weight. I know I went on a Soy diet back in Jan and didn't lose a pound. I was so upset!!! I was reading that when you have that you need to stay away from a lot of different foods. Whoo!!! Ice cream is my weakness!!!
