Default Fatigue / Run Down

Hiya all

I am absolutely knackered !!!!! - Have had one illness after the other for the last few months - IBS - Kidney Infections and have been on over four different antibiotics.

I now seem to be totally fatigued and catching everything going around - am full of a cold at the moment. Am not sleeping well at night and therefore going into the following day absolutely shattered. I feel like my head is up the clouds and I have No energy at all for everyday chores.

Can anyone recommend a good tonic or something that would help me to pick myself up off the floor !!!!

Love

Ali x

Hi Ali,

The illnesses and the antibiotics can sure take a toll. The antibiotics, as well as attacking the illness, also attack the good bacteria in the gut and do as much, if not more, harm than good. I would suggest you find a natural therapist/nutritionist. They would probably recommend a good probiotic to replenish the good bacteria in the gut, as well as lot's of good healthy food to build you up again. A good multivitamin would probably be a good idea too.

All the best!

I had a similar experience - I was living abroad and I got this killer UTI that just wouldn't go away...I went through round after round after round of antibiotics, and finally got rid of it, and about 6 mos later this crushing fatigue hit me, and that's when my weight gain really began.

What helped me the most was to go on a really strict anti-candida program (antibiotics build yeast, and yeast could be implicated in your IBS) - I didn't touch any sugar or refined carbs for 60 days and it TOTALLY helped, and I even lost weight (though I put it back on later, as my PCOS symptoms got worse! ).

You might also try something to boost adrenals (like siberian ginseng) and something for your liver (like a detox tea with dandelion).

GOOD LUCK! I feel for you - I struggled for a long time with fatigue; thank god it's better.
