Default Man I talk a lot...sheesh!

Welcome! Some of favorite things to eat are:
Celery with Tuna salad egg salad or shrimp ceviche.
The above with pork rinds Cream cheese with either celery or pork rinds.
I have been on this raw mushroom and ranch dressing kick lately.

You can eat anything low carb you want in any combination. I take little tupperware containers with little cubes of cheese and lunch meats with celery and carrots( EASY ON THE CARROTS AS THEY HAVE A BIT OF NATURAL SUGAR) Raw almonds are good ( about half a cup) Atkins shakes and atkins bars ( my favorite is the peanut butter)
If you are dying for something sweet. The Atkins Blueberry muffin mix is GREAT! I make a whole bunch of mini muffins and split them into 4 carb servings and freeze them. Also, Strawberries are good with some cottage cheese.
Cereal and whole grain bread are things that are OK for some people and not OK for others. I can eat 1 slice of whole grain bread a day and I also eat 3 tubs of yogurt made with aspartame instead of sugar a day. But I can't eat cereal. You can tryot eat a little bowl of cereal for a couple of days and see how you feel and if you stop losing weight.
If you like Flan ( custard) There is a good recipe for low carb custard on the atkins website. I have found lots and lots of good recipes there.
Heavy whipping cream is low carb as well. I make my ranch dressing with 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream 1/2 cup water and 1 cup mayonaise and one of those packets of hidden valley. If you can find heavy whipping cream with no carbs at all that is better. I am lucky here in Reno we have this dairy brand called " Model Dairy" that is completely carb free. It is a bit scary to get used to the idea of eating such high fat things with realtive ease but it really is OK. These are just some of the things I do and it has worked for me.

To be honest with you I am struggling right now and have fallen back into some bad habits. But I am sure you will find such great support on this site the way I ahve that you will have no problem. Thanks and keep up the good work. It is all very worth it. Pat AKA Mrs. Lunar

Tracy,
I was blown away in the cereal aisle by the amount of sugar in those boxes. The carbs are off the charts, especially considering the fact that a "serving" is about 1/3 of what ends up in my bowl! The past four weeks have been challenging, because that's my low-carb life so far. I have barely had any grain products at all and am probably one of those people who will not lose weight while eating them. I look forward to the day that I move into maintenance and can eat whole grains in small quantities again. Some people can eat them and lose weight, and I hope you are one of them. The cereals that are entirely whole wheat would be okay, or old-fashioned oatmeal or oat bran. Not much fun. All-bran is okay on some low carb diets.
Cheers!
Sheri
