Hubby and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary February 16, 2005, and then February 23rd, we will start the process of adoption.
We are very happy to get started! Here is our "timeline".
We are adopting through DHS in Oklahoma.
1. 2/23/2005: Home safety inspection and application drop off.
2. ?/??/????: Early to Mid March, Homestudy begins.
3. ?/??/????: Also around early to mid March, they will get our background information. It is expected to be very quick, as we have lived at our home over 5 years, and husband is retired Air Force Sergeant and has current fingerprints and security clearance, and I formally worked at a casino and had an extensive background check there.
They have said that in 90 days from February 23, 2005, we could very well be sending out completed homestudies to agencies, if we do not find a match here in OK.
Our target age is 6 to 8 years old, and we want a son. I am a registered Cherokee Indian, which they said improves my odds 10 fold, as many tribes will not allow their children to be adopted by non-Indian members, and there are lots of tribal children in OK waiting to be adopted.
So, there it is in a nutshell. We are SO excited

I mean, the focus of all this trying to get pregnant is to have a family, so why NOT bypass the heartache of TTC, when you will love that adopted child as your own, anyway?
