I quit smoking. I still crave but am so glad I quit! I went from three packs a day to nothing, with the help of Wellbutrin. If I can do it, anyone can!
I'm so thankful that I quit!

Get involved in animal rescue. You won't be sorry. Your heart may break, there may be times when your eyes are red-rimmed for days. You may lose faith in the goodness of people, but your spirit will be renewed by the resilience of those you save. It isn't easy, but it's worth it. I promise you, you will be forever changed.
Congratulations on three years!! I am working on two and a half months now, and understand how tough it is to upkeep. I will confess I have slipped up twice, but I am still going strong. Exercise has really helped me realize the power of breathing. Does it get easier as time passes?

For me, smoking has become stinkier and stinkier as the months have passed. I have a hard time going anywhere that allows smoking. Even entering stores where people smoke outside is hard. But....I still crave. I still reach for my cigs as I'm driving down the road. It's a habit that's hard to break!
Much MUCH luck to you and to anyone else who is trying to quit. It's one of the hardest things I ever accomplished. And it IS a huge accomplishment.

OMgoodness, I totally agree with this! I am so thankful that our state has no banned all indoor smoking...everywhere. Now if only they'd do it within a hundred feet of entrances, etc.
I quit in March of 2003. Cold turkey. And I never looked back. I don't get cravings...but that first week was a killer! I had 5 packs left in the carton that I'd just bought. I gave 'em to a coworker.
The smell of stale smoke is as bad as fresh smoke IMO. I will never forget leaving the hospital with my daughter and walking thru a smoke cloud b/c one of the nurses was standing right outside the front door puffing away.
Congrats on not picking those ciggys up again!
