Im incredibly stressed with my problems as I can't seem to find a solution to it. Basically, I've had irregular periods since age 13, have troubling losing weight (im not exactly overweight but yes I do have flab on my stomach which makes it look ugly and look quite chubby overall). My weight is 60 kg and im 5'5 in height. My ideal weight would be say around 54-55 kg but I cannot seem to lose it.
I got a blood analysis test done to check the level of my glucose, cholesterol and hormones. Glucose level is fine and so is cholesterol. Infact, the good cholesterol i.e. HDL is higher than the bad one.
Also, I have quite a low level of insulin so does that mean I do not have insulin resistance?
As for hormones my FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) is normal, Luteinizing Hormone is higher than the normal range, prolactine is also slightly higher, testosterone free hormone is normal, testosterone total is a tiny bit higher and progesterone is lower than the normal range.
I have oily skin, oily hair, lose more hair than I should, have a lot of facial and body hair, cannot lose weight and have dark armpits which I absolutely loathe.
I've been to a gynaecologist who says I do not have PCOS and then I've been to an endocrinologist who says I have PCOS and Insulin Resistance. I don't understand, I haven't got any cysts nor high insulin levels so what's wrong with me?
I've been prescribed the contraceptive pill Diannette 35 and Metformin.
Im concerned about the side effects of these and my doctos have really not cleared my doubts or helped much at all!!!
I really need your help girls!!! |

My Mood: Points: 21,239.37 Bank: 1.81 Total Points: 21,241.18 | Hi there!
There are so many different things to try - I don't know where you'd want to start. Probably your best bet would be to make an appointment with a naturopathic doctor or a TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) doctor. They'd be able to give you a thorough assessment, and start you on herbs, as well as advise you on diet and exercise.
FYI: Birth control pills just mask PCOS symptoms - they don't actually get rid of them. I think they mess around with insulin levels, too. Also, a LOT of women on here take Metformin (including me) - with an appropriate diet/exercise program, it helps a lot of cysters lose weight.
Hope that helps!

You could do research and find things that work for you or actually seek out a homeopathic Dr
