Default Feeling Discouraged on MET. Should I up my dosage?

I am working toward my 4th month of MET. I take 2000mgs a day. Nothing is happening. I never ovulate on my own.

Should I keep with the 2000?

Thanks.

I'd talk to your doc!! I wouldn't recommend changing your dose without discussing it first.

Are you TTC? If not, don't worry about not O'ing. If you are TTC, you should talk to your dr about adding Clomid. Clomid + Met combo can be very successful, more than Met alone or Clomid alone. This is the plan for myself, when TTC, stay on Met for 3-4 months, if no sign of O, add Clomid.
As for the dose, I do not know if I have heard of anyone taking more than 2,000mg. My Dr says 2000mg is the recommended dose for PCOS.

Met can take a long time to regulate your cycles and doesn't do it alone for some women. If you are ttc, you could talk to your doctor about adding Clomid as the PP suggested. You could also give it a few more months without adding anything. While it's possible your doctor may want to increase your Met dose, 2000mg is usually more than enough from what I've seen around here.

No don't give up!! it took me a year and a higher dosage(1000mg 2x a day) to see any results and now i am cyst free and i've gotten my periods 2 months in a row "on time" this is from not having a period and not ovulating for more than 2 years ..just give it time...if you are always eating fast food..give it up for a while to see how your body responds..if you aren't already try to eat healthier..a small change goes a long way..good luck
