Today I skipped breakfast and then went outside to hack back some blackberry bushes. I came inside afterwards and I'm shaking, feeling totally like my blood sugar is through the floor. I tested it and it's 94! What the heck?
I read that when you first start met, your body can think you are hypoglycemic when you really aren't. Has this happened to anyone else?

I didnt eat breakfast but I ate a big lunch and around 7 that evening I was shopping with my mom and I felt like I didnt know where I was. I started shaking and got dizzy. It was the wierdest feeling ever! I immediately at a piece of gum andthen went and bought some french fries. I started to feel better then. I didnt know if it was my blood sugar too low or the Met I am on. It was scary though!

This definitely has to be an adjustment to met thing.

My Mood: Points: 1,511.41 Bank: 5,045.15 Total Points: 6,556.56 | You are having low blood sugars before you start taking your Met. I know non diabetics blood sugars will be in the range of 72 - 126 but if they don't eat and do physical exercise then their sugar levels will drop. With diabetics the drs say a reading between those levels is what you should aim for, I know my diabetic dr wants me to be 126 in the morning if I can. If you are starting with a sugar of 94 then taking met and not eating breakfast it will make you go funny as your body is using up any glucose it has stored for the energy that you have used. Even if you are not diabetic that can happen. The Met will still work on your body to make the bodies receptors sensitive so that it can recognise the insulin and use it, so you will feel like you are having a hypo. I tend to run high with my blood sugars, and when I get them under control I can experience hypo's at 126 until my body gets used to that level again.
You must eat if you are going to take Met and then go out and do physical work.
