has anyone ever had to have an internal ultrasound done while they were on their period... i have to on friday and i am a bit concerned and grossed out...
I have (many times) and it's really not that bad. Just remember your doc has seen worse! Try to relax and pretend it's like any other vaginal exam and you'll be fine. Good luck. - Julie

Just make sure to alert the doc and nurse (or whomever is there) that you're having a very heavy cycle so they can ensure adequate supplies are handy. Mine have always been fairly quick so I didn't have to be exposed and in that mess for long, and I found that lying down slowed the flow enough that it wasn't too bad.

I had one before my last lap, when AF was in full gear. Ask them for a pad, like a big one, to put under you, it wasn't that bad, just use the bathroom, and of course let the tech know...
It's not pleasant w/AF, but you can do it
heh... i never thought about using a pad like i used when ella was born... all i could think of was that i go to a place at vanderbilt... all prestigious... all nice cotton white sheets... haha...
When I was ttc I had them all the time when I was on my period. The grossest thing ever was the RE took the wand out and a blood clot fell off the tip of it and on to the floor...Ewwww!
Anyways just let the doctor know, doctors see all sorts of things so something like this is no big deal to them.
