Confused I am!
The last statistics I remember hearing were that 60% of women with PCOS are overweight... hmmm... let's see.... that leaves 40% of us who AREN'T!
And, of course not getting your periods on your own IS amenorrhea--but amenorrhea IS a symptom of another problem! It isn't necessarily a symptom of PCOS, since there are other causes for it, but it IS a symptom.
I didn't have ultrasounds until we started the infertility treatment, my doctor said that it wouldn't give us any useful information. I was diagnosed on symptoms (amenorrhea, hirsutism) and bloodwork.
The fact that your endocrinologist is having the bloodwork done is good, but it is so hard to believe that any doctor worth their salt would not be up on the fact that thin and average size women CAN have PCOS. Is your endo a Reproductive Endo? You didn't say in your post.
In any case, you just keep posting your concerns here, and we will all try to help you out. It sounds like you will be able to get your basic needs met as long as you are prepared for your appointments with as much knowledge as possible. That's what we are here for.
