Default Feeling sick...is this diabetes?

Hey all,

I'm feeling absolutely terrible right now and I'm not sure if it's b/c I have diabetes or not. Any advice would be appreciated. Basically, today and Friday, I had two meals consisting only of carbs and the result is that I feel very fatigued, nauseous, and generally unwell. I also have a weird taste in my mouth and no appetite/hunger for the rest of the day. I know I'm eating the wrong things but is this a sign that I'm diabetic?

I'm on metformin (500mg, twice a day) and ive gotten by with junk foods without a problem up until now. Could that be it?

Thanks for ur help!

Just because you eat the wrong things and feel bad afterwards doesn't mean you are diabetic. If you want to know if you are diabetic, make an appointment with your doctor and go in for a glucose tolerance test and some blood work. Do you feel better two hours after you eat? A normal person's glucose level goes back down to normal 2 hrs after they eat. A diabetic takes longer to get back to normal range if it does at all. hth

Don't mess around with wondering. Call your doctor and get that glucose tolerance test asap. If it's something else then you can move on and find it.....if it's diabetes the sooner you know the sooner you can control it which means the less liklihood of complications.

The lack of appetite doesn't quite jive with anything I've experienced, but we're all different. I mean, it could just be your body adjusting to new routines, new meds, new diet....but it's not something to fool around with.
