It sounds like it's trying to work for you ladies....

Jen - I know, we get so excited when something finally works for us....if you drink Red Raspberry leaf tea...which is located at Walmart, it probaby would be gentle enough to add to your system, and not do anything negative to your system. It would work with your B6 in the Femaprin. Aiding you in a longer LH. If I was in your boat, I would go one more cycle without, and look at my chart to see how long my LH phase is, see if I think it would be an added benefit. I remember reading it tones your Uterus too.

Joyful - I have seen that with Vitex before, someone was taking a low dose, and it was giving them their AF, then they increased it, and it made it real late. I have seen that with Soy too. I would stick to what works for your body. I couldn't get Vitex to work for me....maybe I should have upped it more. I am anxious on getting Femaprin.

Faith4miracle, are saying I am probably on too high a dose and should go back down to one a day?

Well, I am on day 21 and having spotting! What in the world does this mean? I didn't ovulate this cycle (that I know of) and I always take my progesterone 3 days past ovulation to get a period. I still take progesterone while taking vitex in case I am pregnant. So I am on day 21, still waiting to ovulate, so I haven't taken any progesterone, and now I am spotting.?? I have never spotted for any reason in my life. So this is all new to me. I hope it doesn't mean I have cysts or something. (I have never had cysts). Normally I don't ovulate or get periods without progesterone. If this is the vitex giving me a period naturally, it would still be too early for that considering it is only day 21 right? I am having cramping too.

joyful - Maybe you are preparing for a late O', are you temping? I have heard of spotting with some people during O', not me...but I hardly ever O'... I think if one a day definitely gave you AF, then I would go back to what worked for you, before you changed the dosage. I can't wait to try femaprin.

Hey there,
I came across this thread last week and ordered the Femaprin. I got it in yesterday.

I have been on Metformin (50 mg) for about a week and added Femaprin (1 capsule) yesterday, and added to those vinegar tonic today. Yesterday, I had cramping on my right side. It sent radiating tension into the right side of my lower back, hip and ovary. I also had a rush of libido and spotting. I took Advil for the pain and by bedtime I felt better. Today, no symptoms.

Anyone have any clue what might be going on?

I am not scared. I am glad to see something is being churned up.

Also, I wonder what your feelings are about the regimine I have created for myself.

I take vinegar in the morning, femaprin with lunch and metformin with dinner.

Thanks,
Rae

Hi All!

I've actually been thinking about switching up from Vitex to Femparin.. once my Vitex is gone. Is there a huge difference?

Chloe - I am so much like you! I bleed for sooo many days at a time with only a couple of days to recoperate before it's on to AF again! Though it's painless.. let us know what you find out at the doctor, won't you? I lost my health insurance when my husband lost his job..so I haven't been to the doctor.. I suppose I need to find one that will bill me as opposed to charging all upfront!

This seems like such an awesome community of women (and men) dealing with PCOS and it's affects.. I am just hoping to get control of things.

Hi Jinnax!

This site has been such a great blessing to me. We are all in the same boat, just trying to figure out how to deal with this horrible thing.

I really wish I would stop bleeding so i could get a pap. I want to know if i have polyps that are causing my bleeding. Sometimes I do get a break in my period for a few days, and my DH and I take advantage of that But here is TMI...after sex, I always start bleeding again. That's why I think i have a polyps! Anyone else have that problem?

Oh and I have been taking Femaprin with True Cinnamon for 8 days. I've noticed that my sugar cravings have subsided some. I'm also not as fatigued as i used to be mid-afternoon. My "periods" have been reduced to light spotting. So that's nice

Chloe -

Wow! It's like reading my own story! Mostly, I find women who do not bleed enough.. It's nice to actually read someone who has the same problem that I do! As for bleeding post-sex, I've had that happen as well! I never even considered polyps! Any time I've had a Pap, everything has looked okay. I wonder if that's something they detect on a pap.

Admittedly, I am well overdue for one.. and the last I had was in September of 2007. ( I know, I know..horrible). I told her about my heavy bleeding and she did a pap while I was bleeding, said the only thing that gave her concern was a bit of (TMI) inflammation and redness at the cervix. But she said that could easily be the heavy bleeding and tampon usage. Sorry, I am sure that was well over tmi..haha.

Now -I- am scared about polyps! I'll have to do some research online and maybe at least get in at the local health department for a pap..though all they ever want to do is get women on birth control.. IMO. Anyways, I've rambled enough!!

Ok, I know I said AF arrived on Wed., (sorry for tmi) it was bright red, but only a little and then it went to the DARK brown. It was flow, but it was DARK brown all day yesterday. So, this morning I get up and it is def. bright red. So do I say wed. bright red was cd1 or this morning? I know that cd1 is the 1st day of bright red flow, so I think I would be safe in saying today. What do you think?

I went to the dr on friday because I was concerned about the spotting. She said that I wasn't ovulating at that time or about to ovulate (she did an ultrasound). The good news is I don't have any cysts.
She did an ultrasound and saw a corpus luteum (whatever that is??) on the right side so she thinks I did ovulate this cycle and missed it. She did some bloodwork (estrogen and progesterone) and next week I'll find out if I did ovulate. I wonder if taking the extra vitex dried up my cervical mucous? Because I have been looking for it and have seen none.
So she said that since I am probably ovulating on the vitex, to go ahead and stay on it as opposed to coming off and going on femara at this time.
But like I said earlier, I have been taking 2 a day instead of one for the past month. I wonder if I should go back down to one. The dr thinks I did ovulate. So I wonder if it would be ok to go down to one or should I stick with 2?

Ok so this spotting thing seems a bit normal for femaprin users!

I too had BRITE RED quick flow yesterday and today it is just brown!
I am going to count yesterday as CD 1...Jus because!!

I to am taking 2 pills a day...and think I am going to go back to one! I have only been taking 2 pills for about a week so maybe its what pushed out the brite red yesterday..who knows? Any which way I was super excited to see it and now ... I hope it comes back later today because I have been feeling some aches in my breast and a bit of cramping so I hope something is going on in there!!
